We went to the Hermitage Hotel restaurant - Drusie & Darr for a business lunch.
The place was almost empty and since we didn’t have a reservation, they seated us in the bar area. Didn’t get a warm & fuzzy feeling.
They had a Spicy Sausage and Kale Pizza and asked if they could just make a sausage pizza and they said they could, but it would be a $12 upcharge. Since I thought that was ridiculous to charge an extra $12 when all they would have had to do was take off the kale, so I didn’t order it. I ordered the burger.
My co-worker ordered the kale pizza and said it didn’t taste like a typical NY pizza crust.
The bathrooms are pretty amazing, though.

Well Drusie and Darr for New Year’s Eve was quite the disappointment. Not too sure where Jean-George’s Vongerichten was, but if he was here, he was doing a piss-poor job. Started with no menu card at our table. The servers came and poured water for everyone but me. Waiter spilled wine on me. First course of caviar was utterly overwhelmed by smoked egg yolks. “Five” courses awkwardly served family style with no place to put them on the table. Main courses of filet and duck nearly inedible. Wine utterly forgettable. But very expensive.
Good points: main server nice. Black Sea bass. Winter salad.
Won’t be back couldn’t recommend. Yikes. The Hermitage is nice though.

The restaurant looked great, but the service and food were very underwhelming, especially for the price. Everyone at my table had their dish prepared incorrectly, but the server never came to check on our food. The food itself was bland and not of the quality we were expecting across all dishes.

We thought we were going to enjoy a nice Christmas day meal but were met with mediocre food and awful service. They served my friend alcohol when she ordered a NA Rose. Refused to split a plate of food to accommodate my disabled mother. Waited over an hour for entrees and the restaurant wasn't even half full. Forgotten drinks, & sides. The list goes on.... I expected this place to be a fine dinning experience especially considering their prices but I think we could have gotten a better meal and service at a basic chain restaurant. Wish they would re-open Capitol Grille and stick to the basics in this historic hotel and not try to do the oversaturated Asian Fusion trend. Do not recommend.

Fantastic Friday evening dining experience with the family. Valet steps from the door of the beautifully decorated Hermitage hotel. Ambient lighting throughout, this modern yet retro feeling vibe was warm and inviting. The highlights of our meal were tuna tartar, delicious salmon, and lava cake. Do not miss the cocktails, spirit forward and absolutely amazing! Seriously, all four that came to our table were 10 out of 10. Our wait staff, Taylor & Brennan were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would recommend D&D and absolutely plan to return in the future.

This was our first time at Drusie & Darr, and it won't be the last. The food was amazing, and the servers were excellent. I highly recommend the tasting menu. We really wanted to try more menu items, but couldn't eat another bite. If you have an event to go to after dinner, let your server know, and they will make sure you get there on time. If you want excellent food and great service, Drusie & Darr is the place to go!

Divine gem tucked in the basement of The Historic Hermitage Hotel. There’s a story behind most items on the menu and the restaurant. From their award winning warm shrimp salad, rigatoni from grandma’s recipe, haunted tales of the hotel to their time capsule restrooms from the 1930s, dining there was quite a magical experience. I really enjoyed the ambience of the dining room, which resembled NY’s Grand Central Station. Shout out to our server who made our dinner extra enchanting. Highly recommend and would love to go again.

We loved every dish that we tried. We also so enjoyed dining in the beautifully renovated space in the basement of the historic Hermitage. We ate here 2 or 3 times during our short hotel stay, and would go back again!

I had the most delicious meal here by myself on Canadian Thanksgiving. The arugula Brussels sprouts salad was delicious. The meatballs were awesome...granted, it's hard to mess that up, but regardless, they were ssssoooo good. I finished with the hot chocolate cake, which presented really nicely and was tasty. When I got the bill, I was surprised about how reasonably priced it was. The damage was more limited than anticipated 🙃 Service was kind, professional and efficient. The atmosphere is fun... of course, being by myself, I did more people watching than I typically would and it was beautiful.

I ate here with a group of colleagues and the general consensus was that of being underwhelmed. I ordered a side with my entree and my entree was prepared incorrectly. They took back my entree but left my side. At a restaurant of this caliber I would expect a fresh side (or at least keep warm for me) while you re-make my entree. But instead I enjoyed (sarcasm) a cold side with my entree. While the waitress was clearing the table, I asked what the small dishes were for that were untouched as I was genuinely curious. She states that was for the bread and than asked “you didn’t get bread?” I understand that may be the responsibility of the assistant server but as the server she should have been vigilant to notice these small details. For the price and caliber I would except these small details to be noted. Overall the food was ok. I personally have no desire to return.

I’ve been to Drusie and Darr a few times. It’s always been good. It’s just always very expensive - what do you expect? Most recently I had the fried chicken, which honestly was not as good as I remembered it. The fried chicken at Fifth and Taylor is much more superior. Another party in our group got salmon with the mushroom crust - it was delicious, but the crust was not very crusty. We started with the tuna tartare. I know it’s a famed dish and one of the reasons he got a Michelin star, but I was underwhelmed. The tuna and avocado need to be colder in order to match the brightness of the broth. Overall, I’ll go back it’s reliable good. It’s just not amazing.
