Edley's is a strange place. The sides are wonderful and top notch, all of them in fact. However the barbecue dishes are average to low tier. I have been to Edley's multiple times. Tonight was worse then normal. I got the fried ribs with grits casserole and collard greens. Like i said the sides were the best. The ribs were not. I got 6 ribs, all were burnt but 3 were charcoal and i could not eat them. I really should have gone up to the counter and got a refund but i didn't want to be that guy. The best thing i have had at Edley's has been the chicken wings.
Hot damn, this was exactly what I was wanting when I said I wanted BBQ. I got the pork platter with Mac and cheese and banana pudding.. mm mm good ? but seriously that banana pudding was to die for.

This place was amazing! From the patient host that took our order (group of 6 with two young kids 3 and 5) to the very friendly serving staff that made sure we had every need met, checked in on us regularly and remembered all the little things. The food was sooo good. The wings, grits, and greens were highlights but the FREE banana pudding that we were given as first time patrons stole the show. Drinks were strong and tasty as well. This was our first time to Nashville and when we come back we will make sure to stop in at Edley’s! The staff really went above and beyond for us.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!
I ordered the avocado plate with the pulled chicken. The presentation was excellent and the quality was delicious. I highly recommend this salad. It is also excellent with the pulled pork. We visited this place on a trip to Nashville. I think this place is a matter of taste and preference and, it just didn't do it for me. I ordered the brisket platter with cole slaw and baked beans. The cole slaw is vinegar based and the baked beans have kidney beans in them. Both were different for me and just ok. The cornbread was dense and dry. The brisket, that is advertised as "melt in your mouth", was anything but. It was too fatty, a little tough and flavorless. Maybe I would have had better luck with another dish.
