The first thing I need to say about this Mexican restaurant is… “Don’t dine there!” The service was simply terrible with bland food. And we didn’t feel welcome. On a suggestion from a friend, I decided to dine at El Sombrero’s on Nolensville Pike for my birthday. After waiting a good while, a weight-lifter waiter showed up to take our order. The problem was that he forgot all about us. We even had to ask for silverware. The food itself was rather bland. Nothing close to the quality of Mexican meals I’ve enjoyed at other Nashville locations. There were no offers to replenish our chips and salsa, and the waiter served me the wrong drink. What a mess! But the saddest part of the experience was the no care attitude of the waiting service when my friend mentioned that it was my birthday… not once but three times. Never was it acknowledged. I wasn’t even offered a dessert menu. I left rather sad to be honest. So, my verdict here is a 1 out of 5, and the advice to avoid this restaurant. By the way, Las Palmas went out of its way to celebrate my friend’s birthday last September. They sang him a tune, placed a sombrero on his head, and gave him complimentary ice cream. As for returning to this particular restaurant… never. Adios to El Sombrero’s.

It’s just like any other Mexican resultant in the area. They are very friendly with fast service. Great to go in and grab a quick dinner with the family or with friends.

I ate here with a couple of family members and it was a good experience. We all loved our meal choices, and I had a chili reneno and it was good. The salsa was OK, and the server was good and attentive. They have both booths and tables, so the options for seating are good.
