Rarely ever does the service of a restaurant influence a review as much as this review. Firefly grill is closed from 2-5 PM daily as they transition from lunch to dinner. I walked in at 430 not knowing this. Instead of kicking me out, the bartender sat me at the bar and served me drinks. By the time I realised my mistake, the servers were laughing at the mixup. It was customer service at the highest level. As good as the service was the food was also delicious. I had the pork chops with greens and mashed potatoes. The pork chops were juicy and cooked to perfection. The added saltiness of the greens with a bite of mashed potatoes made for an amazing bite. I gnawed every piece of meat off the bone. I also have the risotto with mushrooms, bacon and shrimp. The mushrooms bacon and shrimp had great flavor but the risotto itself was very bland. Outside of the risotto this was a 5 star experience

We went to Firefly with friends who live in the area and eat there quite often. First, it is very eclectic and casual inside. We were met by our waiter very quickly and service was generally very good. For drinks, they seem to have a reasonable wine list, but all beers seem to be by the bottle (bummer). Our friends had specials which included seafood risotto and grilled halibut. My wife had fried calamari and oysters and thought it was just OK. Came a little cold. I had the burger, which was also OK. Had a lot of onion which I had to remove and came medium well in spite of having ordered slightly pink.

For appetizers we had the mac that has goat cheese and the hummus. They knocked both outta the park. The mac was creamy and the hummus definitely had to be homemade because it tasted 10x better than any store bought I've had.

The food was very mediocre. How does bread lack flavor? I have never had anything like it. You could taste that the shrimp was frozen. Only came here because we had vouchers and will definitely be giving them away.

We've come here a couple times a year for the last few years, and always had a really good meal. Tonight, though... just ok. One cocktail was good, one was nothing special, despite the ingredient list that sounded really tasty. The pasta special needed some olive oil and a splash of stock to add some liquid and richness, and was short on salt. The halibut special was 2/3 good (fish cooked perfectly, sauces tasty) but then it was over a hunk of rice that seemed it had been sitting for a while. We've had better here. We'll give it one more try, and cross it off the list if it isn't back to previous standards.
The pork chop, followed by coconut cake, is as close to heaven I'll get yo this month! Primo! FF has been one of my go-to eats, dependably good. Above was my review months ago. But visit this week disappointing; pork chop seriously overdone, grated beets salad seriously overcooked near burn. My guests meals very uninspired. Hope just caught a lousy nite.

This is my go to. Never disappoints. Mickey is the "Soup Savant". I've started stocking up! Veered away from my usual and had the special - pasta. It was fabulous!!!!
