We arrived at the cafe after wandering around in the East Nashville. It was like 7pm so there were few customers who were reading books, just relaxing and chatting with friends. We ordered Turtle latte and Havana latte. Both were really good and the staff were so friendly and gave us great service. I’m happy to find good cafe to relax and would like to go back again.

Shrimp & grits were great with plenty of shrimp. Biscuits & gravy were a bit underwhelming. The 12 karats latte was supposed to taste like carrot cake - not so much. Black coffee was good though.

Felt so cozy. Loved my arugula salmon salad. The gluten free bread was ridiculously yummy. The coffee was great and even received refills. It was so nice to relax there. Great service!

We went this morning and put our name down and requested the "first available table" after the hostess said there would be about a 15 min wait. We went across the street to taste some chocolate (amazing!). After 15 min we went back to the restaurant and saw there was an outside table available but a couple with a dog that just arrived went to sit down. The hostess went to make the table for them and I said to the hostess "we've been waiting and requested first available, so could we please have this table?" The hostess snapped at me and said loudly "Why are you being so rude?" I was baffled and kindly said "I thought we requested first available and we would like to sit here. But you're making me feel extremely uncomfortable and I'd rather not eat here if you think me asking about a table is rude." She said "fine" and we left. I'll never go back. You can't talk to customers like that, even if they are being rude (I was not, at all -- I can be rude and know when I am). And looking at other reviews, it seems like we dodged a bullet. I'd avoid this place unless you want to put up with a place that clearly doesn't know how to treat it's customers.

Interesting seating arrangement for a coffee shop. Felt more like a dine in restaurant. Got a bagel and drip coffee. Nothing spectacular stood out here.

Went here a few times. Today was a mess. We ordered avocado toast and biscuits and gravy. We specified no egg on the biscuits due to allergies. The food came for both of us. The biscuits had eggs on it and was sent back. There was no silverware on the table. So even though my husband's meal was sent back to be remade without eggs. I couldn't eat my avocado toast since I had no silverware. I ask our server and she said she'd get them. Then I see her running food to another table and I ask her again I can't eat my food without silverware. Finally a nice lady delivered the biscuits and gravy. It was loaded with gravy where the biscuits were unconverable. When you find them in the soup of gravy the 1 biscuit was completely burnt and not edible. Our server couldn't emotionally handle us asking for silverware and a manager showed up and said she's taking over our table. Coming from a huge combined background in hospitality it's hilarious how horrible this experience was. It seems a combination of mental health advice and better leadership may help this hot spot.

My husband and I were in town for a concert. We are originally from Minneapolis and the placement of this restaurant in a neighborhood, brings us Minneapolis vibes and we loved it! Everyone here was so nice especially our server Jan. She was so special and took the time to get to know us and recommend amazing food choices. The food hit the spot and honestly, best grits I’ve ever had!

It's a really nice coffee shop and the servers working were lovely but there was a whole lot more chit chatting going on than drink making.

We stopped in at 2:45 on a Tuesday and it was pretty quiet (maybe 5 tables had people), we didn't get our 2 drinks - an Americano and a latte - for almost 20 minutes.

There didn't seem to be a system that would differentiate take out orders versus dine in orders so all of the large dine in orders were being made ahead of our take out drinks.

This is not inherently bad, nor speaks to the kindness of the servers. It just makes grabbing a coffee to -go an overly long experience and we were late for our next stop.

If you're not in a rush this would be no problem at all. And the shop itself is nice to spend time in with a cute patio out front.

The drinks themselves were not great. The coffee lacked flavor and the latte that my husband had was extremely sugary. That is a personal opinion so if you're sensitive to sweetness just ask for less syrup.

Overall not a terrible experience but I expected more based on the hype.

After a friend recommended this eatery, I was eager to check it out. They made the ideal suggestion for Buttermilk Cafe. Extremely let down by Frothy Monkey. The quality of homemade coffee syrups was poor. Food was average. To be honest, I would have preferred to dine at McDonald's. The dishes we were served were not particularly tasty. The meal's only redeeming feature was the bacon.
