Husk of Nashville is an upscale restaurant in the historic part of downtown Nashville. There is a lot of history tied to the location and our waiter/host was very knowledgeable. The food is delicious and there was something for everyone to enjoy. I attended a private event and the space was perfect. There was a separate entrance and the atmosphere was welcoming.

That flounder crudo! Order that! It’s Delicate. Very clean. I felt like I was in a cooking show confessional. And the winter greens showed up ready to prove vegetables can, in fact, be a main. This spot is thoughtful and just upscale. A very respectable culinary moment.

Husk last night was not just dinner, it was a reminder of why Nashville once felt like a secret worth keeping.
From the moment we were seated downstairs by the window, with the garden and vines just outside, the room felt like a quiet sanctuary from the neon carnival the city has become. Warm, elegant, unhurried. The kind of place where conversation lowers itself out of respect for the food.
We started with cocktails. I had Give Up the Ghost and Sarah ordered Seeds You Sow. Both were beautifully balanced, thoughtful, and precise. No showboating, no sugar bombs. Just confident, composed drinks that set the tone. We paired dinner with their Malbec, which fit the menu like it had been cast for the role.
The Bear Creek Beef Tartare was the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-sentence. Fresh, rich, and bright, with layers that unfolded instead of shouting. Then came the heritage cornbread in its little skillet, with sweetened butter on the side. We ate the entire thing. Zero regrets. It was deeply comforting and quietly perfect, the kind of bread that makes you consider ordering a second just to be sure you didn’t imagine it.
For mains, Sarah had the Jerk Shrimp and Grits and I had the Bear Creek Heritage Pork. Portions were generous in the best way. Both dishes were complex, confident, and deeply satisfying. Every bite offered a slightly different conversation between flavors, and neither plate overstayed its welcome. This is food that invites you to keep exploring the bowl until you’re both full and a little bit wistful that it’s almost gone.
Service was flawless. Attentive without hovering, warm without being scripted, and genuinely proud of what they’re serving.
Husk feels like a love letter to what Nashville used to be in the late 90s, before everything turned into a bachelor-party obstacle course. It’s calm, intentional, and deeply rooted in craft. A gem. A refuge. A place you want to return to with friends, just to show them that this kind of Nashville still exists.
Thank you to everyone who made our 2026 Valentine’s dinner unforgettable. We’ll be back, and we’ll be hungry.

Husk is a fine dining staple of downtown Nashville. Have frequented for many years and it is almost always fantastic. This go around, I had their blackened shrimp & grits, and it was not great. Mainly I think it was the mixture of flavors in it. A friend I was with had the NY strip and was fantastic. Also, a friend and I arrived before our reservation to sit at the bar and have a drink and an appetizer - They now require reservations for bar stools... That was a bit of a inconvenience. I eventually did get sat at the bar, but it was a bit of an annoyance. Overall thought, great time with friends and pretty good food all around. The pimento cheese - yes, you MUST order this every time!

Delicious locally sourced food in a gorgeous historic building. I especially enjoyed the pimento cheese appetizer. Wonderful service from very knowledgeable servers. Great spot for a unique twist on classic Southern food.

Had dinner here with a colleague of mine and thought the food was OK. I think we dyed hair at the wrong season because this place is known for farm table and it is a nice storm in Nashville. I don’t think they’re ruining anything at this time. I would come back in the summer. We had the steak tartare and it was delicious. There was some sort of citrus taste to it. They added cabbage, which I never had before. That was very good. I did the jerk shrimp and grits. I felt like there was too much going on in that particular dish just way too much. The swordfish was made perfectly. I enjoyed that I had a piece of my girlfriend. Nice restaurant.

Such a kick ass place. I'm a big anson mills fan and I'm not sure why I never thought of Carolina gold fried rice, but damn, that was honestly fantastic. Steak cooked perfectly, smoked garlic was fire and that chocolate crumb cake was great. The drinks were great, bartender was on point and such a cozy, beautiful spot. This restaurant was one of the reasons I drove across state. I almost canceled my trip due to weather, but after working 80-100 hour weeks for the past 5-6 months, I needed a bit of time away. Thanks Husk for an awesome first night of my vacation🍻

Everything about our visit was 10/10. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the food and drink menus and overall was extremely pleasant. Pricing wasn’t as high as we initially thought which was a nice surprise. Good amount of parking but I can imagine it may be tough to get a spot on a Friday or Saturday night. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time!

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. First of all, the location and atmosphere of the place is absolutely amazing. The staff working here is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Last but not least, the food is of great quality. My husband and I tried the shrimp appetizer, the catfish and the swordfish. Every dish was better than the other: the freshness of the fish, the taste of them, everything was absolutely perfect.
