The ambience was great, the bartender I believe his name was RH was fabulous and very helpful and the food was exceptional. We can hardly wait to go back.

Good pizza. One of my favorites to eat. I've eaten there at least once a month since my first visit. Lunch on Saturday is not as busy as dinner plus the patio is a nice place to dine.

Food was good and so was our waitress, but at the end when we received our bill we were charged for water when the waitress only asked if we wanted sparkling or still, not even providing a free option. I also asked for a small piece of bread for my meal and we received a massive portion that was also added to the bill so it just seemed like a money grab to me and that rubbed me the wrong way.

True Italian food. Just like Italy! If you love the pizza and pasta in Italy, close your eyes, walk in, and enjoy a taste of Italy!

I am not a believer of gatekeeping, but wow, Il Forno is really one of South Nashville's hidden gems! Tucked away on top of a hill, right off of Fourth Avenue, is Fait La Force Brewey, and behind it is a lovely Italian restaurant called Il Forno! This is a go to for my husband and I whether we are ordering for pick up (since we live only a few miles away), or dining in. We love to split a salad, and either a pizza or a pasta (sometimes we go crazy and get all 3). I cannot stress how delicious and fresh their salads are - I find a good salad hard to find in this town. My favorite is the Mondragone which includes beets, oranges, pistachios, burrata, arugula, and a gorgeous in-house lemon honey mint dressing. It is DIVINE! If we are feeling a charcuterie moment, we will split the Antipasto for 2 which includes several meats, cheeses, and an arrangement of pickled vegetables. If they have a special of the night - I recommend ordering it because they'll never disappoint. This spring we ordered the lasagna and Halibut with Risotto. I wish they'd put both on the menu. For regular pastas, our faves are the Rigatoni and Fettuccini! The Rigatoni has a delicious truffle sausage sauce and the fettuccini is made with lamb and mushrooms. For dessert, I love the Limoncello Martini and share the tiramisu! I recommend making a reservation as they do get busy, but there is plenty of space since they've set up an outdoor patio section recently. You will never be disappointed at Il Forno - the food, drinks and staff make it worth a night out!

There was live music which was not good. I think that was a result or the acoustics of the room which were horrible… nothing soft… sound just bounces around. No one at my table could hear anyone. Food and service were good but PLEASE FIX THE ACOUSTICS… THE NOISE RUINED MY

Our son introduced us to Il Forno. Authentic Italian! One of my favorite places to go in Nashville. Great service, food is fantastic! I would challenge you to find better ingredients or flavor combinations on their Za! It’s the best fire baked around! This is a have to stop if you are visiting and you want a nice date night or night out with a snack group.

My wife and I recently moved to Nashville. My wife just moved here after living in Rome, Italy for 9 years. This place was just what she remembers from Italy. They were very busy, but the owner still found time to come chat with my wife. This is Naples, Italian food. Not Roman, Italian food. But nonetheless it was very good and very authentic. Highly recommend this place. Awesome food and experience. We will be back several times.

Calzone was just a big chunk of bread stuffed with ham and very soggy. My verde pasta had an incredible sauce but the noodles were undercooked so that was annoying. The pizza has a strong burnt flavor which was weird since it didn't really look burned. The portions were disappointing so we went to McDonald's after. I'd recommend Pastaria or Luogo those Italian spots are great.

Overall wonderful experience as always. Ambiance was wonderful, and food was even better. Love that the owner is there and always willing to come by and say hello. If you're looking for Italian in Nashville, give this place a chance!

I am also in the hospitality industry and I have to say that Il Forno is one of the most authentic Italian restaurants with fresh pasta and I highly recommend!

Best place for proper Italian food in Nashville. If you’re looking to get the real deal without the over the top posh environment, that’s your place.

If I could give 100 stars, I would. The most amazing Italian food we had in a while. The pizza is outstanding, the chicken lasagna is also amazing, the sea food dish was yummy and the service was great! Cant wait to go back :)
