One of my favorite places in Nashville to eat. Especially on a Sunday after church. It's welcoming. The food is always good. The atmosphere is great!

I had a $32 meal and was charged almost $200 dollars on my card đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸ and instead of apologizing and fixing it, the server and manager were very rude as if it was my mistake. Instead of canceling the payment, they waited until the following day to process it with a ADDED $15 tip. After threatening to call the police, half of the money immediately went back onto my card meaning that they could have done that the same night! This was my first and worst experience ever! I am now still waiting for $99 to be refunded.

We've been to other J. Alexander's before and left very pleased, but this location was an absolute let down.
We borh got the steak frites and both were disgusting. Both steaks were grey and had zero crust or flavor besides the butter and had large chunks of unrendered fat that were entirely inedible. Ridiculously bad and a total waste of money.
Service wasn't very good either.

We had an excellent meal. Appetizer was smoked salmon dip it was outstanding then our entrees were so beautifully presented and delicious. Waitress allowed us time but was always making sure we had everything we needed. Awesome experience and glad we came here.

Ordered a Togo order in May. The prime rib was 35% fat, over cooked, and salty as hell. Asked for sour cream horseradish sauce but got none. My mother in law got a salad with chicken. The salad was very sad. Would have been disappointed paying 5 bucks and we paid so much more. My wifeâs meal was fine. I guess a 33% satisfaction rate is ok with them. I called and contacted a manager that told me they would take off the prime rib from my credit card but the sorry excuse didnât. Oh and we got charged for Togo plates. Spent over a hundred dollars for dog food for three.

After 25 years of loyal dining at J. Alexanderâs/Redlands Grill, I left more disappointed than I ever imagined possible. The food was still great, but the service was shockingly poor and left me feeling ignored from start to finish.
I have been dining at J. Alexanderâs/Redlands Grill for over 25 years and this was the worst service I have ever experienced.
From the moment we were seated, we were ignored. Our server, Sheldon, took far too long to greet us, never offered water, and when I asked for it, it never came. After we ordered drinks and an appetizer, he disappeared. There were no refills and no quality checks. I even had to flag down another server to pour water into my empty fruit tea glass after choking on a tortilla chip. Still, no refills were offered.
It felt like Sheldon was purposely avoiding us the entire night. We had to flag down other servers at least six times just to get basic needs met. Food runners stood at the table without placing dishes correctly or clearing space. Twice, salad dressing was placed next to me when one clearly belonged to my sister.
When I asked for the General Manager, I was told they were on an âextended lavish vacation,â which was unprofessional and unnecessary. A manager came over, but instead of addressing the service issues, she offered to remake our food, which I never complained about, and send us home with dessert. This felt like a quick band-aid to get us out the door, not a solution. We were promised two slices of key lime pie, one slice of chocolate cake, and a deconstructed banana cream pie, but only one key lime pie was brought.
The food here is always consistent, but the service on this visit was unacceptable. Being ignored, handed hot plates, and made to feel like an inconvenience is not the J. Alexanderâs/Redlands Grill I have loved for decades. I truly hope management takes this seriously because this experience was deeply disappointing.

We frequent both J Alexanderâs near downtown Nashville this one on West End has really gone downhill from the weight staff to the food quality to the over seasoning of the beans to salt in the aus jus sauce. My prime rib usually is tender and juicy. It was dry tonight pathetic. I hate to say it but ever since they teamed up with Loganâs I think the food is gone downhill at least at this location and the service was the worst. Everything seemed over season not the same J Alexanderâs I remember over the past 20 years or so years, maybe 25 years.
Nice restaurant, great service and delicious food! Food was so good I forgot to capture photos
