Really excellent food! We enjoyed the quesaburria tacos, rice and beans, carne asada tacos, and the flautas. The brussels sprouts were delicious also. I would definitely recommend grabbing tacos here!

Literally doesn’t get any better! I love making my own tortillas and they are a total inspiration. Everything is delicious and they are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about allergies!Dietary restrictions: Lots of clearly marked gluten free foods!

Whether you stumbled upon this place by word of mouth or after watching the Nashville episode of Somebody feed Phil; there’s a reason people swear by this place when it comes to quality and consistency of the food. It’s conveniently located outside Chopper and they do have a collab; so you can drink your cocktails and eat your food inside. Parking can be tricky but you can always find a street parking within 1-2 blocks. Some menu items are permanent and some are rotational, so you can always be surprised and experiment. Prices are slightly higher than most food trucks, but certainly worth it.

We came back through Nashville on our way home because we wanted to eat here and we were not disappointed. The food was great and the owner was extremely patient. As an out of stater who clearly didn’t understand the ordering system, he was extremely patient and kind when I walked up to the window before our order was ready and helped explain how it works. This is definitely worth a stop if you are going through Nashville. You’ll definitely leave stuffed and wanting more.As I’m writing this my wife even said “I miss the tacos.” That’s how good this place is.

Go. Incredible. Flavors are legit. West coaster here very familiar with Mexican food… I am SHOCKED at the quality of this spot in middle Tennessee. I can 1,000% see why they’re a James Beard Nominee. Don’t think twice - just go and enjoy.

For fear of being chased by an angry mob with pitchforks, I'll give this a '3'.* Unfortunately, not a whole lot went right for me when visiting MdlV. Check the tape: I'd been excited about (and, when I had a bigger platform, told people about) them for a while. My job changed then the world changed and I didn't get out as much as I used to so hitting the truck became a 'do next time' task. Well, on a Sunday afternoon in early summer**, 'next time' became 'now' and I headed on over to Lockeland Springs in search of birria goodness.I didn't find it.It was only early summer but climate change laughs in the face of calendars so it was already 93 degrees in the early afternoon sun. MdlV is a truck. I wasn't drinking at Chopper so I felt odd loitering in their space to get away from the heat. 'It's a truck that specializes in tacos; I can wait it out.' I couldn't. After ordering, I waited 32 minutes for four tacos. After ordering, I witnessed people who ordered AFTER I did get their food before I did. After ordering, I paid $20+ for four tacos, while waiting in the heat for more than a half hour and having people who ordered after me (I didn't have much else to do than watch the truck/window in 32 minutes) get served before me. These were going to have to be God-tier tacos to make up for all of this. They weren't.The birria tacos were beef, not goat (as I'd hoped for). They were not crispy (as advertised). The tortillas broke (as advertised they wouldn't). The tacos themselves predominantly tasted of oil. It's not leaning too much into hyperbole to say that every bite was a disappointment. The one save to the meal was the chicken taco. The green chile paired very well with the meat, cheese, cream, herbs, and citrus. I finished that taco wishing I'd ordered more of them instead. I hadn't. Nunca mas. Lo siento pero no me gusta.*My experience warranted a 2. I'm changing this to a 2.**Yep, a while back. Like everything else.

Maiz de la Vida makes some fantastic food! My wife and I went to Chopper Tiki this past weekend for their Christmas popup and we were excited to come as we wanted to try Maiz de la Vida as we heard that their food was excellent. Ordering is super easy as you can do it from your phone via ToastTab, which was great since it was cold outside (you can order directly at the food truck as well as it's directly outside of Chopper). We ordered the fish tacos and beef birria and both were great! The fish tacos were very refreshing and light and very tasty. The beef birria tacos were even better though and were so very flavorful, especially with the consume. We really liked that the tacos themselves weren't huge as birria is super filling. Service was great as well (they brought our food to us at the bar) and we will definitely be coming back to try more food!

This is the best Birria tacos in Nashville and I'm willing to bet on it! I have tried a plethora of taco trucks and this one takes the cake they put actual effort into their seasoning of their food and they're consumé . They don't miss.

Flautas and Birria. Get one of each or two of one. Such a wonderful experience, the guy at the checkout knows his customer service and I must say that it pays off to be someone with that kind of spirit and pair it with great food. Kudos to you guys in that tiny truck pumping out such good food. I cannot wait to come back and eat and drink at the bar. I would just suggest keeping a garbage can outside the truck.

By far the best tacos in Nashville fresh made tortillas ground from corn from Oaxaca Mexico . If you have not been to either of their locations you are missing out as it is outstanding. The service is quick and friendly. Feels like you are in Oaxaca just amazingly fresh and super casual. Don't let the location fool you worth the trip for the best !! A short drive from downtown wort h every second
