The ambiance was nice. The host made a rude comment, but the waitress was polite and attentive. The food was average and expensive (not worth the price at all). I would eat here again if someone else is paying; otherwise, I'll just go to my normal sushi spot and get slightly better food at half the price. 36 hours later and I'm blowing up my toilet... not sure if it's related, but I think it is, because I have a consistent diet and it normally doesn't sound like someone is shooting up my bathroom.

I didn't get any sushi so I can't comment. I got the House Special Cumin Lamb and it was delicious. Seemed clean, music find. I had a hard time finding it at first as I went to the front and had to go up the stairs and back down to the backside. Service was fine. Seemed like cost was a little high on some items I know are cheaper elsewhere. I didn't get it but $12 for 4 dumplings? Even if they are handmade I didn't get it because of the cost. I am sure the rent there isn't cheap so its reflected in the food prices.

After dinner at another restaurant, my friends and I (all African American) came in for a drink bc we heard they had a rare whiskey. Upon entering, no one spoke. We were standing at the bar which had seats. And then the man photographed decided to loudly announce several times “this is a restaurant not a standing bar”. Without asking us anything else, the bartender loudly declared the same thing. If any of them had taken the time to acknowledge us prior to that— they would have known that we came in with a purpose and only wanted our drinks and to leave. We weren’t trying to hang out. The only person who wasn’t rude was the only African American staff person… I’ve never written a review like this before. I’m usually super positive about things. But this was beyond rude. My husband actually left and waited outside refusing to patronize a place that treated us this way. I kinda wish I had followed suit.

So so good. Probably the best sushi in west Nashville. Great roll options. Everything was super fresh. Didn’t make it for happy hour but I’ll definitely be back!

We went to Punk Wok last night for a group meal. We were delighted with our experience as our waiter was so attentive, had amazing recommendations, and made us feel incredibly welcome even though we stayed past closing hour. The sushi was top notch, the hot sake comforting, and the Brussel sprouts to die for. 10/10 experience. Thanks Punk Wok!

Just the right balance of small neighborhood cafe/bar vibe combined with quality sushi + related dishes. Japanese food options in the Nashville zone vary widely in quality - but Punk Wok is my new home for sushi. Try their special rolls. I've been half a dozen times now and everything tastes great.

We went to Punk Wok for happy hour with our son who has several food allergies to peanuts, treenuts, dairy and egg. The waiter was very helpful to make sure that our orders would accommodate the allergy concerns. The food was awesome and we will definitely come back!
Ordered the Lemongrass Chicken. It had no lemongrass. It was mostly fish sauce. The rice was crisp so that was interesting. Service was alright though.

The atmosphere is great, and the food is good, but the prices are way over priced for the quality, and the presentation for pretty sub par for a sushi restaurant, especially for this price.I think they either need to up the presentation, lower the prices, or increase the quality of the dishes. The best dish was the dumplings, but 12 dollars for 4 was a bit much for an appetizer.

Neat place with laid back atmosphere. Food came out for everyone at the table at different times(party of 6, some people had to sit there and watch h others eat for 10 minutes) and food was a little bland.

First, just want to point out the hostile attitude of the owner when responding to poor reviews... gives you an idea about the a-hole running this place.Second, their Sushi tastes like vomit.
