Rock n Roll Sushi - Vanderbilt

I was coming through Nashville and decided to get just a side of shrimp fried rice. I frequent a different location in Tenn and so I know what the rice should taste like. This rice was dried out, tasted stale (like it had been sitting out all day and just barely warmed up in the microwave). It was barely warm. I couldn't even eat it. It was horrible.

Inattentive and inept service ruined this for us. We asked if a specific roll had sauce on top - because we don’t enjoy that - and a different roll came out absolutely drenched. My hot hibachi plate came out lukewarm; only the shrimp was adequately hot. Server had us as her only table and never checked on us, too focused on her laptop at the bar. Male staff member (possibly a manager) checked on a different table but not us. Server returned after about 25 minutes to ask how things were - and that’s when we noticed the 18% compulsory service fee, only disclaimed on a sticker on the inside of the menu.

We will not be back.

So it ended up taking alot long for my food to be made then originally stated but hey its nashville and I know its busy so that doesn't carry any weight in my rating of 2 stars. My rating is 2 stars because I did not get everything that was supposed to come with my Ramen that I ordered. And the noodles were way over cooked and mushy and stuck together and just gross. The broth was pretty good but the noodles ruined it! So mushy noodles and didn't get everything that says is supposed to come with the noodles.

Had the VIP roll and Axl roll Friday night and spent ALL of the next day vomiting with the worse headache of my life.

Trivia night was so fun. Sushi was fresh. Drinks had generous amounts of spirits 😏. Restaurant was very clean as well as utensils & waitress was so polite, patient, & helpful

I received an order for delivery from here, and it took me 15 minutes to get to the restaurant. When I arrived and showed the order, they told me to wait a little longer. I waited another 25 minutes, but the order still wasn’t ready. The restaurant staff should communicate better with each other and prepare orders more quickly.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

The punk rock roll was fantastic! It was a 10 for me! I don’t give that out lightly either! The twisted tuna was great too! Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Can’t believe it’s not packed out!

It wasn’t bad but for the price I’d expect more. The chicken doesn’t have any seasoning, and they barely give you any teriyaki or yum yum sauce.

Such a different idea based Around sushi and I love it! The sushi was so good! Was my first time having sushi and I now eat sushi once a week!🙌🏽

Everytime i come in the restaurant the employees are extremely welcoming and friendly. Not to mention the food is always spot on! Love this place and always recommend to anyone visiting or living in the area!!

Food is terrible and overpriced. If you’re looking for fresh tasting sushi, go elsewhere, not this Americanized chain.

Honestly, Good little sushi restaurant.
I don't really think rock n roll when I think sushi, but it was a pretty good experience overall.
Prices were reasonable, food tasted good and were good portions, not too busy, service was great, drinks were great. They even had glutton free soy sauce. I also liked the fact that you can still find nearby street parking around this part of town that isn't going to cost you money.

Overall, it was a good experience.

My girlfriend and I walked over from the hospital and ate here today around 4pm. We ordered a Reggae Roll, a Spicy Tuna Roll, a Legend Roll, and Miso Soup. All of it was outstanding! Enjoyed the music while we ate. Our server was also on point, though I didnt catch his name. Great, reasonably priced placed to eat within walking distance of the South Parking Garage at the hospital. Thanks for the great food and service.
