I had heard good things about this place for 15 years, and I finally went in to try it. Probably the worst Mexican/tex Mex food I have ever had, and that includes fast food like Taco Bell. The quality was worthy of an underfunded school cafeteria. I ordered the fish taco; there was barely any fish inside—it was almost completely bread. I also ordered the chicken chalupa and chips and queso, and everything was so bland and dry, it tasted like cardboard. I couldn't finish any of it. Would not recommend.

Great food, bit overpriced for what it is, but the queso is great ( put some fresh pico in there ). My only gripe is that they aren't in Chattanooga when they SHOULD be.

We came down for the Hokies game and stumbled upon San Antonio Taco Co. We loved the atmosphere and the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were all great. We will be back !

A Nashville staple!! I've been coming to SATCO since I was in college!! (1990s). It's as good now as it was then!! Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and college atmosphere. I'm 54 and still eat lunch here on a regular basis!!

San Antonio Taco is certainly unique. You grab an order form when you walk in, fill out what you want (pencils provided) and bring it to the register. You pay there and the food follows pretty quickly on a tray, for you to take to the table of you choosing.
This is not fancy by any means and seems like more of a college hangout given it's proximity to The Vanderbilt campus. It does have a level of charm in some way. You can tell it's been around for a while. There is indoor and outdoor seating on the patio. You will be unable to find a table outside that isn't warped. The glow of the neon added to the vibe.
The chicken tacos were small but tasty and for the price you could certainly order a few. The chips were good, but not great. Many were busted up into small pieces (probably the bottom of the bag). There were beer options some of which paired well with the menu options.
Overall a good spot for quick eats, that taste good and at an affordable price!

Delicious food! Super fresh and made to order. This was our first time there and the staff made us feel so welcome and explained the ordering process to us. My favorite was the queso and chips and the crispy tacos. The portion of guacamole was huge and delicious too!
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to the front door made this accessible for my husband and his walker.

Never actually eaten there, but that was our house in 1971-1973.
My bedroom was the 3 gable windows facing 21st Ave.
Best fast tacos in town

This the second I have them a chance. And they just serve you what they want. Add to your order you don’t notice till you pay, but they read you back what you say. I don’t know if it the cooks or the people who take you orders on the phone. But something is always wrong with my order. My chicken on my taco salad tastes burn then they leave off my guacamole and taco sauce. I want be back. Customer service suck on the phone like they don’t want to be at work. You can’t get good quality food these days. Then you pay all this money and your food to not right.
