The decor is thoughtful. Service is decent. The food is where the decline happens. I ordered the half rack ribs with mac & cornbread. The ribs were tough, under seasoned, the mac lacked cheese & flavor, & the cornbread was just meh . The food can be turned around but Bill has too much time on his hands to reply to every review under a 5 star instead of improving on the taste of the food & actually producing great BBQ.

Don't sleep on this place - FNALLY - ACTUAL BBQ in NASHVILLE. And as everyone knows, the best BBQ in the country is Texas BBQ.As anyone who lives in Nashville knows, the BBQ scene kinda sucks. Edleys, Martins, Central, all just sorta meh.So when Shotgun Willie's opened, we had to try it. Brisket is definitely the star of the show, but the jalapeno pork sausages and smoked chicken are really special.Pork ribs were good, it's hard to compare against brisket, so let's just leave it at that.I'm really hesitant to write a glowing review here because I don't want everyone knowing about it, but it really is the best BBQ in the city.

Loved this little BBQ restaurant. The beef link was something new to me so I probably liked that the best. Brisket was a little on the fatty side but cooked perfectly with lots of flavor and moist. Ribs were fall off the bone cooked. Chicken had good smoke flavor but rub was bland and could've used a little heat. What they called a Texas sheet cake was very good cake/brownie and I wanted more.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Absolutely incredible!! Visited many BBQ places in Nashville and this by far tops them ALL! If you love BBQ you need to come here! Looking for good bbq off the beaten path for locals on our drive past Nashville - literally the perfect spot!
The best brisket I have ever had. Sides were great. Wasn't too busy and everyone got a seat even though the line never got shorter. Wonderful service and very cool place.

It was okay. Chicken and ribs saved them. Brisket was too fatty, 1" fat to 1" meat. No combo plates offered so we ordered ala carte, it came to $55 for 3 meats. BBQ sauce okay, I've had worse and I've had better. 4 employees stood behind counter and didn't check on the customers. Corn bread plain, neede to be sweet, Cole slaw and baked beans not to our liking. I wished I ordered French fries.
