Since moving to Nashville it's been hard to find good Asian food of any kind, but today there was great success. I found this little place about a 10 minute walk from where I work, and it is my new go-to spot for lunch. The food was fantastic, the service was quick, and the price was good. I'll be back to try something new at least once a week!
Mackerel was deep fried and to salty. The seafood pancake was also deep fried. Most things were too salty. Tofu soup lacked flavor.

I was reminded of the famous "Bukchang-dong Soft Tofu" after seeing its name (Sogong-dong)... so I went there on purpose to see if the quality was that good... but I was disappointed.Taste is relative... It's hard to conclude that it's not tasty just because it doesn't suit my palate...This restaurant says it's a tofu specialty restaurant... but the side dishes themselves are better... I think it would be better to just run a regular restaurant.Seafood soft tofu and Jeyuk Gospel (the menu says otherwise...) It's just not delicious.For example, soft tofu is not boiled properly... the liver is not cut... the ingredients... they should have raised the price... I miss the Bukchang-dong soft tofu I had in LA 25 years ago.Still, this is the first Korean food I've had in almost 3 months... Anyway, it's close to the Nashville Airport, so stop by at least once...

In from out of town looking for a good Korean restaurant and we stumbled upon So Gong Dong. We had the Galbi(short ribs), bibimbap, and mushroom tofo soup. All were great, the service is friendly and don't rush the process enjoy the ambiance. The bibimbap is served in a stone pot and gets the rice nice and crispy.

Here's the thing -- I thought to myself: the portions are kind of small, I think I'll be dissatisfied if I just get the Beef Bulgolgi, better get the combination with kimchi tofu soup...With the combo, refillable banchan, white rice, and kimchi pancake split 5 ways -- I have never been more full in my life.Not only was everything delicious, the servers (one seemingly unable to speak much English) were both very friendly and accommodating. Even with the language barrier she made a point to serve us well and with a smile. So sweet.Everything was served quickly, heated well, and dripping with flavor.This was a birthday dinner because I had been craving Korean food, something that we don't have locally where I live.So, I had to travel over an hour to get anything close to Korean food and it was worth every mile and dollar.We will come back again!!
