Sonny's Patio Pub and Refuge

Local hangout with dog friendly patio, plenty of TVs, and game day specials which are appreciated seeing as how expensive it can be. Great place for locals to get away from the tourists and Broadway scene.

We went here for some food on a Saturday night. 10 pm-ish. It was most definitely a college bar by that time but the food was exceptionally good especially given the vibes of the place haha. We got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich some wings and a salad. The margaritas were also good. They had karaoke going on and that was entertaining. My old crotchety husband who doesn't like loud music said he would go back for the food lol.

The food was mediocre, it was good but not worth coming back for. The atmosphere was fun! But the service was absolutely AWFUL. Our waitress only cared about talking with her work friends. Took over an hour just to order our food and she had and attitude the entire time. Rolled her eyes and wouldnt make eye contact. Plus verbally had an attitude. Won't ever go back because of the service.

Made a reservation for 6 people and sat us at a 4 person table and had to leave early because we couldn't eat since we all couldn't sit and the server was rude and made it seem like it was our fault for not having enough chairs

Germantown is Nashville circa late 90's, Karaoke, cheap drinks, and good times. Not the tourist trap that sobro has become. Sonny's is an anchor and flagship of this wrinkle in time. Skip the tourist crowds and come to Sonny's.

It was crowded-manager was an absolute delight. We had an issue with not having a server but it was fixed promptly! We will definitely be back

The actual bar it’s self is not bad. The problem lies in the people that work there and the corporation that owns it. If you open a tab while watching a game, you have to order or close that tab with THE specific waiter/waitress that is serving you. You can’t go to the bar or another waitress and order/close out. So if your waitress abandons you or ends their shift, you’re stuck. It’s not possible to order or close out your tab unless you ask to speak to a manager and wait around for 20 minutes. Been here 4-5 times and ordering/closing out tabs has been a nightmare. After wasting 45 minutes trying to close out, I finally decided to complain about the process and ask them to fix it, and the waitresses response was to tell me off, tell me to stop “being disrespectful” and speak to a manager or I would “be thrown out”. Great way to do business. The easiest solution is to just not go here. There’s plenty of bars in Nashville and this one doesn’t deserve your dollar.

The best thing about Sonny's is the atmosphere and outdoor setup. The service is definitely better than many other places in Nashville. The food has a lot to be desired though. It's the most basic bar food and your side option is tater tots....
The price is asking a lot for a rather mediocre bar.

Wanted to call them to ask a simple question, but had to sit through a 2 minute phone tree just for it to hang up on me when I reached the end. I get you don't want the phone constantly ringing, but c'mon now, don't waste my time.

We were seating quickly, served quickly and the food was really great! It was Friday at happy hour, so it was very loud, and that was the only downside for us. Highly recommend for a local community pub with lots of great food options!

We enjoyed our dinner and the manager, along with wait staff, were super attentive and checked on us often.
