Went here as part of a food tour. Had the Nashville Hot Chicken (great). Learned the history of the place and some of the folks that have played there.

We ate at Red's next door for lunch. Best Nashville chicken I've ever had. Lola at the bar was knowledgeable and very friendly. Local beer on tap. Cash only but will worth the stop.

Great bar! Went in to have a beer while waiting for our food from Red’s Hot Chicken (which was delicious). So much history! The real deal. Lola are bartender was attentive and so personable. Will be back next time we are in the area. Iconic!

Absolutely love this place but does it smell like a gas leak to anyone else?
Oldest dive bar in the area, maybe all of TN. Great service and good beer selection and pool table and games. Bring your food from next door.

Oldest bar in TN. Bring your hot chicken over, have a cold beer, and listen to Lola's detailed history of the bar. Pool table, stage, and an atm in the best little dive bar anywhere.

Young women beware! I’ve never seen such a conglomeration of fraternity bros except when tailgating at a university football game. This location IS right next to Vanderbilt so it is expected to see lots of college aged coeds, but this was like 99% dudes.
The bar itself is super dive. Stickers, plaques, dusty trophies, and other random assortment of signs and warnings decorate the walls. There is a large pool table, a small patio, and two different bar tops, with the front one hosting nothing but Tennessee taps .
The bartender is beautiful with a great rack and long hair , and really knew the lay of the land. She was informational, quick witted, and lovely .
This bar is cash only, and beer only , but oh boy are those beers cold as ice, and so so tasty and fresh. Great, clean lines.
Big fan of this historical landmark !

Wonderful “old school” neighborhood feel that makes it unique since 1896. Wide variety of live music, always entertaining with local song writers and musicians. My kind of place; low prices on beer, unique interior frozen in time, fun and music.
Gosh I hope this place lasts forever. In a town of over-produced honky tonks, this gritty little beer bar stands apart as it falls apart. Go visit, shoot some pool, see a gig, and high five a ghost or two.

Cash only, beer only and great freaking atmosphere. If you go in knowing what you’re getting, you’ll love it.
