I was in the area for a work near Vanderbilt. I’m not sure what motivated me to walk to the Parthenon in August, but boy was I glad this place was nearby! It was so hot outside but the bar was cool, dark, and had cold beer. Bartender was an incredibly kind woman. Same goes for the man seated at the bar who I assume is one of the owners. Nothing more welcoming than an old TV playing Friends. Food next door was perfect, too. Happy I took a chance at Springwater, and I will make a point to come back whenever I’m in Nashville!

Easily my favorite place in Nashville! It would have been a gem even without the incredible chicken spot next door (Fried Chicken Crunchwrap! Whoa!), but the real highlight was Paula working the bar! Top notch service, and incredible stories! If I lived in Nashville, I’d be here all the time. Thanks so much!

We met Lola as lil puppy dogs, waiting to gain admittance to the bar. She opened the bar and proceeded to treat us to the best tour in town. While downing one of the great selections they offered, she wowed us with her knowledge of the area and musicians to come through Springwater. We had such a good time, that we came back not once but two times over the next three days. (We came in from Texas to Nashville for the first time).

This is a fun little out of the way dive bar (on the tour). Friendly people, lots of history and of course, good cold beer.

I grabbed a beer while waiting for my food next door at Red's, a cold $4 PBR is always welcome.

I don't know Nashville, but what seemed like a local crowd was hanging out and drinking on a Sunday afternoon, uncrowded, nice little outside area to hang around and watch the world pass by.

Nothing special, but my kind of place.

Went here as part of a food tour. Had the Nashville Hot Chicken (great). Learned the history of the place and some of the folks that have played there.

We ate at Red's next door for lunch. Best Nashville chicken I've ever had. Lola at the bar was knowledgeable and very friendly. Local beer on tap. Cash only but will worth the stop.

Great bar! Went in to have a beer while waiting for our food from Red’s Hot Chicken (which was delicious). So much history! The real deal. Lola are bartender was attentive and so personable. Will be back next time we are in the area. Iconic!

Absolutely love this place but does it smell like a gas leak to anyone else?

Oldest dive bar in the area, maybe all of TN. Great service and good beer selection and pool table and games. Bring your food from next door.
