I can only imagine that the pandemic really changed the way things worked here. We all know that Nashville has an abundance of taco trucks. You can choose based about location, price or specialty and not go wrong. In a former life, I liked to travel the metro to compare and contrast all things taco from the taco truck. So, one day in mid-May, I made my way to a part of East Nashville in which I haven't spent a lot of time. I came in search of taco goodness. I left with an attitude problem and food that was not the pick of the litter. I'd definitely had better (closer to my home, cheaper and with less hassle).The truck (as with many) is located at a gas station. I say that not to disparage but to prepare: the truck is cash only so you might need to dip inside the station for some paper bills. I carry cash with me so I read the menu, smiled, ordered, and... nothing. I got very little interaction back. I wasn't looking to become best friends but some human acknowledgement goes a long way. After a decent amount of time, my food was ready (I had to remind them about my drink). I grabbed my stuff, got in my car and drove home.My four tacos had a similarity: terrible tortillas. All four tacos' tortillas fell apart. My finger food fell to the plate. Each one. It's good that I was eating at home with a plate beneath my mouth rather than outside on a bench somewhere. Annoyed that not one taco was stable enough to be eaten as a taco, I concentrated on the meat fillings. Asada: chewy. Pollo: almost all fat (very unpleasant mouthfeel). Barbacoa: okay. Carnitas: good. You can do the math; those aren't good numbers. The second star is for the piña agua fresca. It, too, was 'okay' but this is a mercy star at this point.You can stick to your usual taco truck. Don't go chasin' waterfalls.

Again.. no chips and salsa.. what type of mexican food truck does not sell their most famous chips and salsa!!?? Lol try UPTOWN TACO. FOOD TRUCK RIGHT BEHIND THE UPTOWN MARKET ON CORNER OF DICKERSON AND maplewood!! This is THE BEST EVER !!!!
