Once again the Standard at the Smith House proves its namesake as the standard of excellence for dining in downtown Nashville. The Standard continues to be the go to restaurant for special occasions. From start to finish the experience is unrivaled. On this occasion, we hung out in the lounge for a bit. The bar staff was amazing. One member of our party did not drink, but the bartender made him feel involved by mixing him several non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. All six members of our dinner party had a different menu entree. All were pleased, but the lamb was hands down the best.

Probably had the worst table in the restaurant hidden in the back behind a curtain near a door to outside even though we had a reservation and nicer tables were available. Lobster dip was excellent. Steaks however were half fat half meat and took a few tries to get it cooked right. Definitely a beautiful unique setting but not sure what all the excellent reviews on the food are about. Maybe ordered other than the ribeye steaks. Service staff was extremely polite and efficient. Go here for the ambience and service - someplace else for a great steak.

Absolutely enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere of this beautiful historic townhouse. The servers and all the staff we came into contact with were beyond friendly. We were lucky enough to get a quick tour of the ballroom and private dining wine cellar rooms which was absolutely fascinating. Thank you The Standard for such a wonderful experience.

This was our first visit to the Standard. We were greeted in a friendly manner and we were immediately impressed with the decor. Our servers Scott and Travis treated us like we special guests. The dinner was a wonderful experience. A night to remember for our anniversary.

We had the best experience from the entrance on Our waiter was amazing and was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant! His recommendations were spot on The best experience and the food was amazing Can't wait to go back!

Cocktails at the bar were great. Bartenders were excellent. Service at the table was wonderful! The tartare was spectacular. The sea bass was amazing. The standard filet was great but the potato cake was a bit stale. The Tempranillo was really tasty and the cappuccino and espresso martini were a great ending. Sadly, valet isn't complimentary anymore. It's $20. For a fine dining experience, that should be a complimentary service.

We had a great experience at The Standard at the Smith House. The food was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. We were celebrating a birthday and it was the perfect way to celebrate. I would highly recommend it for any occasion!

The bartender was our server so getting service was next to impossible. We had to flag him down to order a bottle of wine for our table. When the food arrived one our our steaks was overcooked. No waiter was there to check on us, we had to flag down another waiter to address the situation. He handled it very well and we had a new steak within minutes. However our waiter did not check on us once, no additional drinks, no dessert just inquired if we were ready for the bill after we sat for a long time with no one even clearing the table. Just the check and we were done. It's interesting that the gratuity for a party of 4 is added automatically. That explains why our service was lacking. Had we had attentive service we certainly would have had more drinks and likely dessert. All that aside the food was outstanding but given the cost of this restaurant I expected much better service.
