Celebrating our anniversary here was absolutely perfect. The food, the service and the vibe were absolutely on point. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and shared the sea bass and a filet mignon; both were excellent! The warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert was the perfect finale! I enjoyed a perfectly made espresso martini as well. This was our first time dining at the Standard and we will definitely be back!

Fabulous meal with ample portions. We had the filet tartare and the lobster dip. Then the Standard filet and the sea bass. Bread pudding for dessert. Everything was phenomenal and the service was superb (Scott/Nick). It's a really special place with a unique building and amazing food and service. It has it all!

The staff were warm and welcoming, clearly professional yet never overbearing. The food was superb, with the steak cooked to perfection, and the drinks prepared by someone who clearly knows their craft. Book a table, you'll be well looked after.

Once again the Standard at the Smith House proves its namesake as the standard of excellence for dining in downtown Nashville. The Standard continues to be the go to restaurant for special occasions. From start to finish the experience is unrivaled. On this occasion, we hung out in the lounge for a bit. The bar staff was amazing. One member of our party did not drink, but the bartender made him feel involved by mixing him several non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. All six members of our dinner party had a different menu entree. All were pleased, but the lamb was hands down the best.
Service wasn't great. Took a long time for someone to even come to table, waiter seemed bothered by any questions asked when he was giving his “talk” about the menu. Food was slow to come to table. Would not go again

Probably had the worst table in the restaurant hidden in the back behind a curtain near a door to outside even though we had a reservation and nicer tables were available. Lobster dip was excellent. Steaks however were half fat half meat and took a few tries to get it cooked right. Definitely a beautiful unique setting but not sure what all the excellent reviews on the food are about. Maybe ordered other than the ribeye steaks. Service staff was extremely polite and efficient. Go here for the ambience and service - someplace else for a great steak.

Absolutely enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere of this beautiful historic townhouse. The servers and all the staff we came into contact with were beyond friendly. We were lucky enough to get a quick tour of the ballroom and private dining wine cellar rooms which was absolutely fascinating. Thank you The Standard for such a wonderful experience.
