It was a wonderful experience from the first phone call to the dessert. I love historical places with atmosphere, good food and a 10 for customer service. The Standard is at the top! Thank you for a fine dining experience !

Great food, service and ambience. Our group had a variety of dishes from the menu and they were all great. The Lobster bisque is the best I have ever had and we live in a coastal state so we have it often.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. The service was good, the food good, the environment very charming. The courtyard area was very charming and the drinks were delicious. The wine list was disappointing in it's shortness and high markup. We were able to get the wine we ordered, but it was the last bottle. The server mentioned that they are limited in how much they can order, which I believe as Tennessee has some really outdated laws on wine purchases. The bone-in filet was delicious. I got the filet meal w/an upgrade to the bone-in. The hash was disappointing in taste, but also because it came to the table lukewarm. The lobster dip was very good. We only ate a little and asked to have it boxed up. When we got home, we found a couple small containers of the dip and not the amount we had remaining. Again, disappointing. My overall sense is that they don't expect Nashville locals to come to the restaurant. We had a good time, glad we went, won't go back. There are too many great restaurants in Nashville to go back to a place with which we had this experience.

Hidden gem, right in the open and thankfully caught our attention. Would highly recommend this exceptional restaurant if you're looking for a very special experience & meal. These are professional servers who know their strengths and are certain to add value to the experience. Drink beforehand at the bar was done so well and dinner was outstanding.

The best steakhouse I have ever been to. Our wait staff Allen and Autumn did a phenomenal job. Tony was great as well. They made our night feel very special. The best meal I have had in ages. Maybe ever.

This restaurant is in a historic building. It's very cozy and charming, but the food is very lacking. We were led into one of the dining rooms and it smelled of stinky fish. I had a bad feeling then. We started with the calamari. We enjoyed that. The batter was nice and light. It was nothing special, but we were happy enough with it. Then we had the spinach and walnut salad. It was just so so. A bit vinegary. Then we split the 14oz ribeye. We ordered it medium rare and sliced. It came and it was practically raw. Very disappointing, especially with the price. The creamed corn, which our waiter raved over, was just ok. Really average. The hot, baked chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream was good. Best part of our meal. Normally I would've complained, when paying that much and it being so disappointing, but it was my daughter's birthday and I didn't want to make her and her boyfriend uncomfortable and spoil the night. I hate leaving a bad review, but they need to know, because the building is so cool and historic and I'd hate to see restaurant close. At least the service was good and everyone was very nice.

Absolutely amazing dinner. The food was fantastic, the location is amazing, and our server Sean was the absolute best! Couldn't recommend him more!! He helped my now fiancé with the best proposal. He was the sweetest, made our whole evening there the best.

Food was an absolute miss. For being known as a steakhouse they couldn't get medium correct. It was extremely rare and when asked to re do it. They burned the outside but inside was still the same rare temp. We were excited based on other reviews but extremely disappointed. We would've preferred STK or Morton's.

Our overall experience was pretty good here, it was our first time. The atmosphere was great, and our service couldn't have been better, everyone was very friendly. The food was pretty good, steak was cooked as ordered. I got the loaded mashed potatoes, and honestly they kinda tasted like they were instant. They were good, but I've eaten a lot of homemade mashed potatoes and instant mashed potatoes, and they tasted more like instant. The main reason I bring this up is because they were $15...for mashed potatoes. I got a small Caesar salad, and that was $15 as well. I just thought the food was a little over priced. We got some calamari as an appetizer, My wife got the salmon and a small side salad and a glass of wine, I got a 12 oz NY strip, potatoes, and a small Caesar salad with one glass of Coors Light...and our bill was over $220. Although it was a good experience, we probably won't be back because of the price.

Walking through the door you're transported back in time! We had drinks beside the fireplace in the cocktail lounge before dinner. The food was amazing! I had the pork chop and it was cooked perfectly for being such a large piece of meat. The dining room we were in was very romantic but would also be good for a group of friends. The staff were all so incredibly nice! The history of The Smith House was interesting. It was just neat to see a piece of Nashville history being used in such a creative way.

The Standard at the Smith House is OUTSTANDING. If you can, request Alan, he is truly professional and as a waiter, he acts as a terrific guide to help you enjoy your meal to the fullest. Would recommend 100% to all folks in the Nashville area--don't miss it.

Delicious lemon drop martini and they have ruined me for ever eating another grilled cheese without pulled pork. Would totally come back!

It was a very special night for my family. I requested the table above the courtyard bar. The bartenders Dillon and Chase were exceptional. Thank you for making our family celebration so perfect!

Overall the experience was nice. We thought the food was just okay. For my taste I thought it was not worth the price we paid. The service was excellent, Rylee our server did a great job in making the night special. There is a weird smell throughout the building. Could be because the building is old but it was just everywhere and you couldn't escape it.

Our recent experience left me with mixed feelings. The evening began on a promising note; the ambiance was inviting, the staff attentive, and the menu is awesome. As the evening unfolded, we indulged in great food, wine, and some martinis. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the service, up until a certain point, was great. However, to our utter surprise, as we neared the end of our dinner and after having spent $1200 on our dining experience, we were abruptly asked to leave. The sudden dismissal was not only unexpected but also deeply unsettling. No clear explanation was provided. We sought clarification from the staff, but their responses were vague and unsatisfactory, further exacerbating our dissatisfaction. The lack of transparency and professionalism in handling this situation marred what could have otherwise been a memorable evening. Despite the amazing food offered by the kitchen, the unfortunate incident overshadowed the positive aspects of our visit. In retrospect, one cannot help but question the management's decision to eject patrons who had invested both time and a considerable sum in their establishment. Such a disregard for customer experience raises concerns about the overall hospitality and customer service standards. In conclusion, the food was noteworthy, but the untimely and unexplained expulsion from the premises left a bitter taste in our mouths. It's disheartening to see an otherwise promising dining experience tainted by an incident that could have been handled with more tact and consideration for the people who had invested in the restaurant.
