The Rutledge is such a great place to eat and celebrate! I've been multiple times and it gets better each time. There was a live singer this time and that was great!
Had a great experience last night at the Rutledge downtown. Steve was our server and he did a wonderful job at making us feel welcomed and provided outstanding service. This was my second time at this location and I truly enjoy my experience.
Upon walking in I was impressed with the decor and the ambience. My party of 7 were seated immediately. The menu options are diverse but cohesive at the same time. I ordered the artichoke dip for the table and a crunch shrimp sushi roll. The dip was enjoyed by all and the sushi was a little large for one bite sushi that I'm used to but it was pretty tasty non the less. Three of us ordered the strawberry spinach salad with salmon as our entree. When The salads arrived we all needed more salad dressing. Also the salmon needed some seasoning. There was no salt and pepper on the tables. One of my guests ordered the lobster bisque and had to send it back because it was lukewarm. When it returned she absolutely loved it. **If you order drinks, Beware of the numerous alcohol taxes** Because two of my guests had martinis, we had questions about the added taxes and it was explained that it's how this part of Nashville operates. So to assuage us the manager gave us these gold tokens and guided us over to a Moet champagne vending machine and we all got a mini bottle of Moet!! Talk about service!! Overall it's a really great restaurant with friendly and prompt service.
Our first time at The Rutledge Downtown and we landed Steve as our waiter. This man completely redefined what serving is and set the bar incredibly high for all future dining events for us. He was like our Virgil—making suggestions when asked and was knowledgeable about the selections. He knows his trade very well, Steve should be asked for by name and his style is old-world eye contact and rapt attention, while being loose and approachable, never giving the suggestion that we was too busy for us. (And they were busy!) The venue was pristine and the vibe was so unique and inviting while also letting us enjoy everything to see hear and taste while not invading our senses with useless noise and gimmicks. The Rutledge will be the cornerstone for us when it comes to smart casual dining in Nashville. The Wonton Shrimp appetizer, Filet and Lemon Cake are all approved by me ;). Book with confidence and please don't wait too long to get in here and see these fine people!
Very sad to be writing this review, but The Rutledge was the worst dining experience we had in Nashville. The food was terrible, we got completely incorrect items, our waiter was not friendly (although the hostess was both friendly and helpful!!), when the Diet Coke was served to me with almost no syrup and I requested another, it took almost twenty minutes in a fairly empty restaurant to receive it...the list goes on. The atmosphere is also lacking. The music from both singer songwriters was blisteringly loud, and made it hard to enjoy the meal. Most importantly though, I'm allergic to mushrooms. It's a common allergen, one that you think restaurants would be aware of. When I ordered the steak appetizer, I expected it to come with what was listed on the menu. Instead, I was “treated” to a “steak” appetizer that was mostly mushrooms. I was never asked about allergies, and the menu did not list mushroom as an ingredient. That's pretty dangerous, and though the waiter noticed I hadn't eaten past the first bite, he never inquired about the meal or asked how to make it right. Such a shame, as this was my mom and I's last meal on our mother-daughter trip.
From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was inviting. The service, drinks and food were top tier all around. Highly recommend the Rutledge!
Food and service was excellent. Reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area.
Amazing dinner on NYE! Kaden took care of us and was always attentive. Looking forward to my next visit!

Augustine provided amazing service, and the meal was absolutely delicious. While the drinks took a bit longer than expected, the overall experience was fantastic.
Just a heads up.. you’ll see several additional charges on the bill , including standard sales tax, LBD sales tax, alcohol tax, and a hospitality fee.

Excellent ambiance. Food was delicious. Service exceptional. Steve was amazing. Super friendly and provided great suggestions. Would highly recommend!
Had high hopes for this New Years Eve dinner, left disappointed. Food was just ok nothing to write home about and highly overpriced for the quality. Paying for the decor of the restaurant. We had much better dinners in two other fine dining establishments earlier in the week.
Madison’s service was friendly, professional, polite and prompt. Just the right balance of attentiveness. She made great recommendations and helped us have a great experience at The Rutledge. We ordered the steak and the salmon and both were great! We will be back and will request Madison! Thanks for creating a great evening for us before heading over to Bridgestone!
