We visited the Marathon Motor Works complex and wanted lunch. This place was convenient because it is located inside the complex. The counter staff were friendly and informative, and the food prices were very reasonable. My wife and I shared a turkey Rachel. I must say, the sandwich was quite good, lots of turkey and very flavorful.

We had the pleasure of stopping to eat lunch at the Southern Engine Deli in the historic Marathon Village section of Nashville. Already impressed with the area, we stopped in and ordered an Italian Sub and the Turkey Rachel sandwich. The product was so fresh and tasty, and so worth the value! We also enjoyed the industrial chic atmosphere. But that's not even the best part! We had the loveliest conversation with the owner, Lina, and left feeling such gratitude for meeting a new friend along the way. We highly recommend making a stop to eat here while in Nashville and DEFINITELY say hello to Lina for us!

They have the best rueben in town by far! I'm from Michigan and a good rueben is hard to find in Nashville! The owners are so kind. This is a great deli!

Best rueben in Nashville by far! I'm from Michigan and have missed a good rueben, look no further. The owners are so kind! This is a great little deli. They have sandwiches, soup, chips, and pop. I literally go to Marathon Works sometimes just to get their rueben.

The Southern Engine Deli is a fantastic lunch option while exploring Marathon Village. With a wide selection of delicious sandwiches, salads, drinks, and snacks, the deli provides ample variety. We especially enjoyed the mouthwatering turkey croissant sandwich. The cozy, welcoming interior offers ample seating, and the friendly, accommodating staff added to the pleasant dining experience.

Excellent place for a quick lunch!! My sister didn’t realize her sandwich would be cold and was worried about eating a cold sandwich while pregnant. I went back to the counter and they completely remade the sandwich and cooked the meat in the stove no questions asked! Just awesome customer service.

Our sandwiches were good, but the amount of mayo and mustard on them was a bit over the top. A bit overpriced for sandwiches.

This cute deli restaurant is located inside the Marathon Motorworks building. It is stop number one on the trolley tour. You get large portions for reasonable price. Everything is made to order so if it is crowded, it takes a few minutes. It is well worth the wait. The Italian sub is delicious.
