My one wish for TKO is consistency of portions and value. We ordered an egg roll, veggie (bell pepper and zucchini) lo mein, and tofu/zucchini main for two people. Our meal was over $45 and we are still hungry. Neither main filled the take out container fully and the tofu main was watery and lacking in flavor. Also small—for $17 we were very disappointed. The only solution here is to fill up on white rice (which is always ample), otherwise you’ll be hungry. We’ve had some truly stand out meals here and wish we didn’t feel like we were rolling the dice when we order.

TKO is my go to East Nashville dinner spot! Whether it’s take out, dine in or UberEats it’s always great! I take a lot of my vegan/vegetarian/gluten free friends here. There are always options for them. Not only that but their cocktail menu changes frequently and they are always trying fun new combinations! Oh and speaking of changes they have a gluten free cake on the dessert menu that changes throughout the year. One week it might be made with Fruity Pebbles the next one could be Sweet Tea flavored!

Here are my go to’s
-The egg roll is huge! It’s one big one and easily can be shared with a friend.
- I love their soy chicken option when I’m not feeling meat. But I’m always impressed with their seasonal offerings.
- The Skillet Cake! It’s a staple! I always save room for it.
- Great variety of non-alcoholic drinks! Love all the NA Beers!

Long story short.. it’s a great place to get a good meal that’s easy. Whether it’s for a birthday dinner or a night where you just don’t want to cook. It’s a must!

Dietary restrictions: Great options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten sensitive people.

I pretty much live here. Egg rolls are the best on the planet. So huge. They make their own Polynesian sauce for them. No sauce packets here. Pro tip: order family style. Get a couple apps (my favorites are the green beans and dry fried broccoli when it’s available. I never like broccoli and theirs made me like broccoli). If you get entrees like TKO chicken, get a side of rice. We actually prefer to get 2 entrees and bourbon chicken fried rice and share it between 4-6 people. Definitely get the noodles. Especially if the chili noodles are on the menu.

The atmosphere is cool. The food was okay, nothing you would crave and be like I have to go back. The part that got me. We were there for a friends birthday. We had called ahead to see if we could bring a cake in. They said it was okay. After dinner we asked if we could get plates for the cake. On the bill they charged us a $2 plate fee. Yes I know that’s not a lot. But after we’ve spent $100’s of dollars on food and drinks, just seems like a slap in the face. To me that would just be customer service.

Another gem in east Nashville. Food was creative, menu was well thought out. If you’re a fan of the spicier things in life this should definitely be on your list. The menu had a really nice seasonal touch to it.

I had high hope but it was disappointing. Why chips on fried rice?

When the ambiance of the restaurant is rated higher than your food or service, it might be time to consider changing some things. Of four people, only one really liked their entree. The rest of us could take it or leave it. I ordered the sesame chicken. I expect crunchy on the outside, tenderness inside. They forgot the crunch. And also the vegetable garnish. And the spices. They didn't forget the rice. You have to pay $3.00 for that. And speaking of forgetting, that's exactly what our waitress did once we got our entries. She passed by our table many times on her way to other tables. Never even gave us a glance. Didn't notice our empty glasses. Didn't notice our empty water bottle. She made it quite obvious that she was done with us. I finally had to approach the counter and ask for more water. When there are so many other great choices nearby, there is no reason to eat here.
