We stumbled upon Umami after needing a plan B since plan A restaurant was closed, and we are so happy we chose this place! Huge menu of Asian food. We got the Korean fried wings (worth it!!), bulgogi chicken, and a roll. Michelle the owner and bartender was so sweet too. We can’t wait to go back!

I arrived at 5:47pm sat myself, had my order taking received drinks. Was asked if I wanted miso soup because the sushi was taking longer than normal. I left at 7pm starving

This was our first time here, we ordered medium size (10 pieces) Korean fried chicken; half soy garlic and half spicy. I think some of the dishes are expensive compared to the portions. My husband ordered beef bulgogi and he liked it. The atmosphere was amazing, it was clean with a hand washing station which is so awesome!

Just witnessed the manager/worker speaking disrespectfully to a customer. She yelled at the custom (from across the room) and told him "there is no outside seating." And when he was inquiring about it, she told him he should of called ahead of time and got a reservation.... Also our waitor was disrespectful too! This was our first time visiting and she did not want to explain the menu. We were deciding on what to order and she said "I have other orders to get to." We felt rushed, so we just left.

We just walked out five minutes ago because our waitress was very rude when taking our order. She was very inpatient and stated "I have other food orders to get to" less than two minutes into taking our order. We also witnessed another waiter say "Why didnt you just make a reservation" to two male customers. Regardless if he should have made the reservation or not, the waitress should not have spoken to them in that manner.

I used to frequent this place, but it has become unbearable.Food is “cooked to order” but comes out cold. The owner seems to be drinking on the job, is rude to customers, and will yell at you. Many of my friends have said the same thing - I’m guessing she is under a lot of stress because the business is declining. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I love all Asian food, fried chicken, and wings. These Korean wings are easily the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. It may be my favorite food I’ve ever had. It would be a mistake to not come here.

Food was great but my seared tuna had a piece of plastic from like a bag of bread , waitresses just took it off the plate & still charged us for it! But overall everything was good they had kpop playing which was a vibe!!!
Service was great on the to go order. But if you are looking for REAL AUTHENTIC SUSHI this is not the place. Sashimi is supposed to melt in your mouth and it was very chewy. Also, they use imitation crab in their food. Big no no. I should have known trying to find authentic sushi in Nashville but please do not go here for that. You may be safe with the wings or ramen but this is not authentic Japanese cuisine.

Ordered a dinner, didn't receive the soup or salad it comes with in the description. Ordered mochi ice creams and it was super grainy and covered in chocolate sauce and melted whipped cream?? The teriyaki beef was cold, completely watered down, and tasted like a cup of sugar was just dumped in it. Will not order from here again ?

Absolutely best Asian restaurant in Nashville!!! We love their Korean fried wings, sushi, bulgogi, ramen, curry… I could go on! It’s so delicious and the staff are incredibly kind and attentive. It’s become a very regular spot for my husband and me!

The food was absolutely amazing! Clearly the best crab Rangoon I've ever had, definitely made fresh but the star of the meal was the Korean Fried Chicken. The 30 minute wait was so worth it! The chicken has a crispy skin and the meat is so full of flavor and very tender. I can't wait to come back!!!
