This place was outstanding. Food and staff were incredible and they treated our table of 7 like family! We were celebrating a birthday and were given amazing desserts and the best hospitality ever. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!!!

Voodoo Gumbo delivered a very nice surprise. The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center and was not at all what I would have expected. Service was quick and amazing and the food was equally as good. I ordered the gumbo (feel like it was required given the name) and wow what an amazing meal. It was hot and filling (as it should be) and was cooked to perfection.
I closed the meal out with a couple of beignets which were a nice finish.
A definite recommendation and would love to go back when I am in the area.

I’m from Southern Louisiana and I’m always leery of Cajun food outside of Louisiana because most folks don’t season their dishes properly. Unfortunately this was the my experience with Voodoo Gumbo. I happen to be in the area on my way home so I went in for some take out. The shrimp and the crawfish in the étouffée were fine but overall is overly butter flavored with very little seasoning. It wasn’t terrible but not close to something I would find back home. On a side note; I like that they keep the rice separate but the rice was in a cheap clear plastic bag and wasn’t even tied closed. The french bread was the same way. I hope they were out of the normal containers but if not, it’s just being cheap. Splurge for a ziplock or something next time. Lastly the jambalaya was tasty but not worth a second trip. Hopefully they can make some adjustments because there isn’t much competition for decent Cajun food in the area.

Very good food. Although why not provide a healthy amount of rice for such pricey entrees. I've never understood why a good company can make such a great product and then provide such a small amount of an expensive item like rice. If you buy a $15 gumbo then provide more than a tiny bag of togo rice. Rice cost pennies. Give folks some actual food to eat. Just saying. The gumbo is A+. I just wanted some significant rice to go with it so I could get full for $15 or more for some gumbo.

By far one of our favorite restaurants in Nashville. The shrimp Cocktail is one of best ive ever eaten. We ad extra horse radish to ours mmmmn. I love their catfish (best around) and the red beans and rice....ok The Amaretta Bread Pudding is to die for. The staff....not often the owner of a business comes out and checks on how things are but Herb (one of co owners) almost always takes a break from the kitchen to check on how your food is and how you are doing.
