We stopped by this place last night and were seated with bartender Elaine R. Things were fine until a clearly intoxicated man approached my mother and started getting in her face. My sister asked him to leave us alone and he threatened her and put his hands on her. We flagged Elaine down to do something when she put her hands up in a surrender pose and said, “I didn’t see anything.” Confused, I pointed at the guy who was STILL standing two inches from my mother’s face and she said, “I can’t kick him out unless he touched you.” Clearly upset, we told her he DID touch my sister, and she just had a blank expression and said, “you didn’t tell me that.” At this point, the man ran away and we said we were leaving. She was clearly unequipped to handle a situation like this and made us feel very unsafe, which I wouldn’t expect from another woman in the service industry. She started to try to speak more with us but since she was no help we left. We told security what happened and we appreciated his understanding and support about the situation. We were able to identify the man before he ran off and he said he would send his picture to the rest of the bars and offered us to come inside again. While we appreciated the gesture, we were really turned off by Elaine’s passive behavior and lack of safety. I can’t speak for the other staff, but probably won’t be coming back here if other staff behaves the same as Elaine.

Roof top bar. We came middle of day but friendly staff. Escorted to upstairs bar. Free jello shot with drink. Drinks were pricey though.

Extremely overpriced bourbon back wall will close early if it’s slow without notice. You can go down the street to other bars and pay less than a quarter of what they charge for their better high-end bourbon.

Drink was good but really pissed they over charged my card then what my balance was. Bought a 15 dollar drink and got charged 27 dollars and then I tried to call to figure out why then over charged me and of course no answer.
We had a really disappointing experience at Whiskey River Saloon on Broadway in Nashville on Sunday, 1/26/25. My wife and I were the only patrons for a while—it wasn’t busy at all—and we spent 4 hours and over $200 on food and drink.
One thing that really bothered me was how they roll the taxes into the price of food and drinks, which miss leads people into tipping more. This might be fine if the service was good, but it definitely wasn’t. I get that Nashville charges extra liquor taxes and service fees, but most places itemize these charges so you can tip on the service provided, not tip extra on taxes and fees.
The food and performers were great, and the bartender downstairs was friendly and attentive, but the waitress upstairs rushed us out so she could get out of there quicker.
The real kicker was when the security guard and manager wouldn’t allow us to use the restroom before leaving, which was incredibly unprofessional. They acted like they couldn’t be bothered, and it left a really bad taste in my mouth.
To make things worse, they closed early at 10 pm because there weren’t enough customers (3 am closing time advertised online). Overall, the experience was frustrating and inconsiderate. I won’t be returning and wouldn't recommend it to others visiting Broadway in Nashville.
Businesses in Nashville, particularly those that serve food and drink, are generally required to provide restrooms for their patrons. The city's health and safety codes, as well as the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) regulations, typically mandate that any business serving alcohol must have accessible restrooms available for customers. Denying access to a restroom, especially after a customer has spent money at the establishment, would likely be considered a violation of those standards.

Whisky River is my number one bar on Broadway. It’s the first place I stop at when I am there. The bartenders and Manager are amazing and kind. One of the only places I will drink at because I am a tad picky. My favorite drink there is the Whisky Tea drink. I will drink 2 and that’s all it takes for me to 🤣 I just went there Monday right when they opened and I was the first one there and got to chat a bit with the bartender. She was the sweetest. Then, I met the Manager and he let me in the gift shop and I got a shirt from there. He was so friendly and introduced himself and shook my hand. I can’t say enough about this place. 10 out of 10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND 💙 See you again at the end of the month for Zach Top.
A bit pricey but we had a great time!

If you are a person of color you will be treated differently! My trip to Nashville was so much fun except this place. Maybe you guys should put up a sign with the kind of demographics you want in the place.

Too cold. Paid 1500 on new years for a booth and had to move upstairs just to get warm. Not worth paying for special event extras. No lines, low attendance and leave the doors open even in the winter so it is freezing. Food is just over priced ordinary bar food

We just went for a round of drinks on the rooftop. When it was time to pay, the waiter already had his pad on the 25% tip option making it an uncomfortable transaction. I normally tip 20% or 15 if just one round of drinks. When I make it back there, I will make sure to reduce my tip to balance it out to a FAIR amount.

We stopped by for a snack and drinks during a girls’ day out on Broadway. The atmosphere was great, with live music and two levels (a ground floor and a rooftop) to choose from. The menu offered a wide range of drinks and food, from light bites to hearty options. We tried the peach, strawberry, and prickly pear margaritas—they were sweet and light on alcohol, but we heard the Nashville Tea (Long Island) and Mai Tai pack a stronger punch. The queso and salsa were flavorful and delicious. I’d love to return in the evening when the place is bustling.

Service was awful. There Were 10 people in our party. We sat on the rooftop.
Wait staff NEVER greeted us or served us. A member in our party wrote our drink order and gave it to the bartender. They graciously brought it out to our table. We also had to write down our food order and gave it to the bar tender. The waitresses totally ignored us. They just stood by the kitchen talking and looking at their phones. Guess they didn’t need our tip money.

I went there on 10/31/24 around 11:50pm and this awful little brunette woman treated me so rudely and called security on me to kick me out… for bringing in an empty beer can from another place, which she also removed, because it was empty… security came over and was lovely, another bar staff came over and was accommodating and helpful, since we literally had already ordered stuff and our card was on file so we could not leave. They cancelled the orders, so hopefully that goes through correctly. Anyway, that brown haired girl with a horrid attitude and no sense of customer service needs to be fired. I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life, and given my positive experience with legitimately everyone else at this establishment, it is clear that she is the problem. Disgusting.
