Cancun Mexican Restaurant

Who Knew! The best and biggest raw oysters in East Tennessee are found at this excellent Mexican restaurant located just off I 40 in Newport TN. Just a short trip from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. After traveling miles to bigger cities in search of some good oysters we found that they were located in our own back yard. The Mexican food is just as amazing! We watched the owners, Guadalupe and Pedro, going back and forth to the kitchen checking each plate that came out for perfection. Our waitress Josseline was exceptional, always with a smile on her face making sure our dinning experience was the best. We like certain additions to our oysters like horse radish, lemon and tobasco sauce which we always bring with us. Come and enjoy!! Wow the shrimp cocktail is like none other I have ever had!! Wow!!

We pass this place everyday and have always talked about stopping. I'm so glad we finally did. The food had such an amazing flavor. The service was great! This is my new favorite place.

The meal started out fine until we spotted a cockroach crawling on the wall behind me. I took a picture, showed it to our server. She started laughing at me and I told her it was not funny, it was disgusting. She left and spoke to whom I assume is the manager. She brought the check and when we went to pay, the manager wadded up the ticket and said sorry. THEY NEED TO BE INSPECTED! Where there is 1 cockroach……there are plenty more! I am glad to know that they thought it was funny!

All I eat is meat. I do not eat anything outside of animal products. I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants. Looking for something that would fit my diet. At this place with most Mexican restaurants I usually get the fajita plate for two. It seems to fit my hunger. Except for here. When you include all the vegetables and trimmings for the plate itself. It would be a full plate. However when you don't get all the trimmings and all you get is animal products you get to find out how much they're saving and not taking care of the customer by the amount of meat that is left on the plate. This place is terribly disappointing. I do not recommend this establishment for business. To be fair he did bring out a 2nd plate but like I said there was probably not even 10 oz of meat on both plate together. Other Mexican restaurants definitely had a lot more meat on their plates. Like I said I do not recommend this place, they are cutting corners when it comes to taking care of the customer. I don't have an issue paying full price for what I order. The issue is when it comes with 8 oz or less of meat for the price I'm paying. The receipts included.

Pretty good food besides the beans being so watered down you can drink them. Added a half cup of plain mash potatoes to give some sort of thickness. If there are bubble coming up.... it's definitely watered down too much.

Always good food, friendly people, I usually get pollo fiesta, it’s always good and plenty of chicken and vegetables. They also have good sweet tea. It a pleasure to eat there, they have plenty of room behind the restaurant to park large vehicles.

My grandma and I go once a week here. The staff are so polite and always smiling. Today we went and our waitress was amazing. Her name was Heather. She was so helpful and helped us with trying something new and as always it was amazing. We will continue to come here. Oh the dessert is amazing you should definitely try it as well. ? ??

Absolutely wonderful! Heather is a true gem of a waitress, and husband happily told her that his meal was the best Mexican food he’s gotten anywhere! All of our meals were delicious, but the molcajete truly was a work of art!

I love this place. Great service, great food. Huge mugs of beer. I go there when I have a load close by. So I go eat and have a few beers, then I go my butt to sleep for the next day to deliver my load. It's a very relaxing place to eat. The waitresses are friendly and prompt.
