KFC was once what everyone else strived to serve, delicious fried chicken meals at an attractive price. Those days are gone. It had been quite awhile for us, but we decided to try their meal deal that used to be good. No one asked my husband what sides he wanted. Just slopped it together and sent him out the door for almost $30 of 8piece dark only.
The pieces were pretty much bone and breaded skin. And extra crispy = extra soggy with no flavor. The surprise sides were both mashed potatoes that tasted straight out of a box. And then two types of gravy that neither of us wanted and another container is canned cheese soup. We actually ate very little of it. Pulled what we could meat-wise off the chicken , to use as dogfood topper. Rest went into the garbage. Looking online, the numerous complaints, it’s not isolated to one KFC store. It’s the whole franchise. KFC has gone from the top to the bottom. Corporate greed for profit destroys a business every time.

Went inside & ordered the 5 piece chicken tenders box. The tenders were tiny to say the least. Also ordered the 2 sauces but only got one! The price was ridiculously high (especially for what I got) KFC in general has gone down hill but I definitely won’t return to one in Newport,TN again. There are better food options close by!

Ordered in the app. $20 7 pc meal with mashed potatoes. Ordered fries and Mac n cheese. Ordered at 7:38. Got the alert the order was ready. Headed inside to pick up but my order wasn’t ready. Waited 10 minutes while being ignored while an employee talked on the phone. When the girl finally came to the counter I mentioned my mobile order and ordered an order of fried pickles. Another 10 minutes go by and I get my pickles. The girl rudely attempts to tell me they have to give me original recipe for the white meat. I explained I didn’t want it because our family doesn’t like original recipe and to just give extra crispy in dark. The girl rudely says make up your mind you want white meat then you want this and that. You’re gonna get what I have. I said no ma am. When you pay $35 for food you want to get what you order don’t you? She said it will take 25 minutes for white meat. I also requested fresh fries which made her mad as mine had sat out all this time getting cold. I said I’m not going to wait 25 more minutes it has already been 20. She continued to yell at me and I asked for a manager. She said which one I have 2. I reply both. The manager was nice enough. Did his best to make it right. At this point I told him to give me whatever so I can get out of there and feed my family as it was now 8pm. I get home and the whole bucket of chicken is original recipe. Honestly I do not know how they stay in business. If I’m paying for a product I feel it should be the product I order. As for the young lady that clearly needs to work on her customer service skills, she needs a different line of work or serious training. I never requested a refund which now I regret being the order is still wrong. Go to Bojangles.

My brother brought chicken home and it was not recognizable as chicken. Normally I will only leave a review if something is good, but this was bad enough that I feel people should know. I’ve never seen anything like this is my life. My dog sniffed it and walked away, my dog! I’d leave zero stars if I could.

Update…. Tonight 7/22/25 we stopped once again to grab some KFC on our way home. My wife did the order on her phone. Once we arrived the head cook, Noah, came out and told us they were out of white meat and offered several substitutions. He was super apologetic and when he returned with our revised order he was once again very apologetic. We told him it was fine and it was our fault for stopping so late (we try not to do that out of respect for the workers). He even said we can go online and complain about our experience. No way am I gonna complain over that! His great personality and attitude made my wife and I talk on the way home about how the Newport TN KFC has really really improved in the last year! Great job Noah and all those who have helped make this store great!
Tonight, 3-30-25, my wife and I visited our local KFC at 805 Cosby Hwy, Newport, TN to walk in and pick up our food to go. We’ve ate there many many times over the years and had noticed a gradual decline in the atmosphere, personnel and cleanliness of this store. Today was our first visit back in a while because of the above mentioned areas. We were shocked by the politeness and manners of the young man, Cody, who waited on us! He went above and beyond serving us! Updating us regularly and apologizing for the delay while our fries cooked. My wife and I discussed the complete change in cleanliness and how well the other employees looked and acted as they worked. My wife spoke to the manager on duty, Joe, and his professionalism seemed to be a reflection of the other improvements we witnessed. Kudo’s to Joe, Cody and all the crew that worked tonight on the great job they did in serving us and on the overall improvements at the Newport KFC!!!

Food poisoning… ate here yesterday (Tuesday 7-16) 3-4p I’ve been throwing up and having diarrhea all night, place almost killed me… now I have to work all day exhausted and dehydrated… good luck, rolling the dice with this one.

I bought some chicken from kfc meal deal the chicken was uncooked and Mac-cheese was not good old and service not good either for the price of the meal I should’ve went somewhere else I would recommend eating at the kfc in Newport to the cooks can’t fix chicken unless you want it raw 🥹
