I grew up in Newport on Carson Springs Road accross from Wendell Miller Gary Miller's Dad ! So I'd seen Gary over there from time to time since the Millers moving there in August 1970! But before Rusty Denton drove a baby blue station wagon came pulling up in our yard in 1969 as my mother's younger Sisters from Cleveland,Ohio we're staying with us as we came from there in 1964! Dad THREW a fit! He knew of Rusty's background as my Uncle Ralph kyker knew Rusty's dad Zeke Denton! Aslo in Cleveland,Ohio Steve's mother Martha Valentine was close friends or girlfriend of uncle Ralph's! In was born in 1959 they put me in the same cribe with Steve while they all played cards! Later at Cocke County high school I saw Steve and felt some connection and didn't know why as I started High School September 1974 ! When this happened it shocked the School! I was 16 1/2 years old ! I didn't realize Steve Valentine was that old of 18 He looked my age and i was to be a Junior in High School but I was held back repeated the 2nd grade.I Never knew where exactly this Red Lantern was! We went by Sunday and I saw it for the first time! Steve was Friends with Gary Miller! I remember that morning on the WLIK radio it being announced in our kitchen while Dad was making us Breakfast ! Such a Tragedy that hit home near us ! Wendell changed and Lois I think Divorced him. Recently Gary's half brother & sister Steve Miller and older sister Cathy Miller passed away some months back . It's said they made Apartments out of the Red Lantern! Can you imagine that! The signs all over said "No Treaspassing" so they must get alot of Lookers! A guy was ran over out front of there when that happened I think and was Killed! These places are usually Haunted !
