The absolute BEST shrimp and grits. The fries are fresh and cut! It’s quaint and right on the river with inside and outdoor seating available. QUALITY is 110% and exceptional service.

We stopped at Simpl Café on our way home from vacation and it instantly felt like one of those places you’re glad you found by accident. The coffee was divine ✨☕️the kind that makes you pause mid-sip.. and the food was just as good. Fresh, simple, done right. 💯 The service was genuinely fantastic. Kind, welcoming, and effortless. You felt seen without being hovered over. And the owner is very cool.. easy, authentic, clearly pouring heart into the place. This café has soul. Not trendy-for-the-sake-of-it, not trying too hard… just really good coffee, really good food, and really good people. We’ll absolutely go out of our way to stop here again. If you’re passing through, don’t skip it.

We have tried every dish for breakfast, brunch and now the seasonally rotating dinner menu. You can taste the quality of ingredients that each meal has to offer. Kendal and his team work extremely closely with local farms to ensure the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Please come out and support the only restaurant in the whole area committing to serving the community the best meal you will ever have.

Run, don’t walk to this fantastic restaurant! The quality, locally sourced ingredients and attention to detail is unbelievable.
We started with the Fried Risotto and it was delicious, and a generous portion (as lovely as the picture)
I had the Bacon & Bone Marrow Pasta. Obvious that the pasta was made in house and I recognized the Benton’s Bacon right away, but yet a delicious light sauce, even with rich ingredients. Delightful.
My husband ordered the Shrimp & Grits that had just enough chorizo added to give it even more taste (not that it was needed), loved the extra touch of pickled onions as a topper. One of the best shrimp & grits I’ve ever had (yes, I stole a lot of his), and that includes Charleston restaurants.
The owners were the sweetest and eager to make customers happy, so refreshing. We can’t wait to see this restaurant grow and we will definitely be coming back for more! This will not stay a hidden gem in Newport for long and we can’t recommend it enough.

This restaurant is everything I love about farm-to-table dining. They partner with local farms and offer plenty of organic options, and you can taste the quality in every bite. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared and full of flavor — the kind of food that makes you slow down just to appreciate it.

The owner is also one of the most personable people I’ve met in the restaurant world. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and the community. They’re always happy to share where the ingredients came from or recommend a dish based on what’s freshest that day.

You can taste the love of the craft in every bite. (The dog-friendly patio out back is also a bonus).

My husband and I winded up a long road trip through the Southeast with this as one of our last stops. We try to avoid chains and look for fresh foods. This place was a great find. A tasty lunch, friendly staff, relaxing by the river and a killer cappuccino for the road made for a great stop.

My first time going there they don't serve coffee only Cappuccino and expresso based products. I ordered the breakfast plate the food was cooked to order and tasty only problem was everything was super salty eggs, potatoes and the bacon which I know they can't control that but I don't want the cook to decide how much salt and pepper I have on my food put salt, pepper and ketchup on the table and cream or bring it . How hard is it to serve coffee? I was disappointed I will not be back..better off going to waffle house..
