Off Road Diner and Dogs, formerly Chicago's Own

From an old owner of a Restaurant that ( Niro’s gyro’s ). I sold it in 2016. Because of heart problems . Now it’s close since 2018 . I was told about the place not too long ago . So I have tried their food. Chicago dog , Italian beef was amazing. And service was excellent I 100% Recommend it .

After trying it the first time I've become a regular. anything from the Italian beef to the Vienna dogs, bbq, and smash burgers is amazing.

Great food and fast and friendly service. We had the coney, the beef with mozzarella, smash burger, ribbon fries, and funnel cake fries. Everything tasted really good.

Everyone was super positive, had board games for me and my brother to play, and the food (especially the funnel cakes) were extremely good.

Here is a gem....quaint little place. Food was very good. Owners were pleasant and seemed to enjoy conversation. They have been there for 3 years. I will definitely be returning. There is a wing challenge I want to do and several items on the menu I am looking forward to devouring!!

I have never eaten brisket before today, he let me try a piece and I would drive back from North Carolina to get some of that! It was melt in your mouth delicious!!

The mother and daughter team are a force! Loved their energy. The food was amazing, just delicious. This was our 10 year wedding anniversary mini vacation, and so many things have gone wrong, but this place did not disappoint.

We live about an hour away and my husband stopped by after a soccer game based on a recommendation. He got an Italian beef which he said was good. Bread was generic but beef and giardiniera were good. He brought me home an unassembled Chicago dog. I loved how all the ingredients were packaged individually so I could make the freshest version possible. That extra level of service was amazing and I loved my Chicago dog. I can’t wait to have the other tomorrow.

The food here is always really good and it's one of the few places you can get fried okra. If your a ranch fan I highly recommend trying their ranch with the fried okra or French fries. The loaded ribbon fries make an awesome snack. They don't always have brisket but it's worth snagging it when's there. It's so flavorful, it's no wonder it doesn't last long.

The owners are also pretty awesome very friendly.

We went here to intentionally support a small business in my area because we enjoy the new, the unique, and the honest. The whole restaurant felt like it was a friend's place. Atmosphere was pleasant and the owners were friendly and in good spirits. We couldn't decide on one thing so we sampled quite a bit and bought almost $50 worth of food. That said... it lasted us for 3 different meals for 2 people.
Garlic Swiss burger - true to its name, simple but well made.
Tamales - very good and with topping choices.
Brisket on a burger - amazing.
Trash Fries with added brisket - the heavy hitter on the table and worth it.
Off Road Dog - hotdogs are legit too with numerous toppings available.
Like I said, we sampled quite a few options but let me say these people walk now what they're doing and didn't miss the ball on any of it. It may have been the best choice for a slow rainy day. If you're considering this place even a little bit- do it. Try it. Exercise that free will and step Off Road to see this Diner.
