I loved visiting The Mellow Mushroom as kids before becoming vegan. It brings me so much joy that not only do they have vegan options, but it tastes great! They use follow your heart vegan cheese.

The best pizza I’ve tried was pepperoni, so cheese and flavor. It was so busy but the service was good and the food was great and fresh.

While the food was served quickly and tasted good, an incident with one of the staff members completely ruined our experience.

The restaurant has a self-service bar for drinks, utensils, napkins, and additional plates. When I noticed there weren’t enough plates available, I asked one of the staff members (Employee A) for help. She smiled and went to ask another employee (Employee B), who was standing at the ordering counter. Employee A asked, “What should we do? We’re out of plates.”

Employee B, who appeared to be a large person with tied-up blonde hair, no makeup, and had a voice resembling a woman’s, turned to me, stared at me, and said, “Use your hands.” Her tone and the way she looked at me were condescending and disrespectful. This response was not a joke—it was an incredibly rude and inappropriate remark. As a customer, I felt disrespected and humiliated.

I couldn’t help but wonder—was she being racist? Her behavior felt extremely unprofessional and made me question whether she was treating me this way because I am not a native English speaker or because I am a foreigner.

Thankfully, Employee A quickly stepped in with a smile and handed me a disposable plate, which solved the issue. However, the entire encounter left a very bad impression. While I don’t expect every staff member to be overly friendly, this level of disrespect from Employee B is simply unacceptable.

She clearly needs additional training, not only in customer service but also in basic respect and professionalism.

Although the pizza was great, we left the restaurant with a terrible memory because of the rude behavior of Employee B, who was standing at the counter at exactly 4:30 PM on December 26, 2024. I hope the management addresses this issue seriously.

Regardless of the other reviews. I thought the staff were friendly and the pizza was really good! Hot and fresh. I would recommend especially if you have kids. Good quick lunch for you and the kids to get back on the attractions.

Pizza is very mediocre for the price. I don’t think that there’s any reason why the price should be that much for such mediocre pizza but of course this area is a tourist trap and they will get you for whatever you have. Service wasn’t good at all the place was actually pretty dirty and the atmosphere was bland

Ordered cheese pizza and calzones. Actually pretty disappointing food. Not much flavor and really over priced. I honestly think ordering from Pizza Hut or Domino's would have been more satisfying.

If there were negative stars I would be giving negative stars. Service was terrible. I waited 40 minutes on a Tuesday at lunch. No line, they just didn't make my salad until after the pizza came out and I asked about my salad. I didn't even get a sorry.

Came to the Island for Halloween. We had the Maui Wowie and 10 wings. Food was quick and delicious. Outdoor seating was perfect on a cool fall evening. Will devotedly be back. Great job Mellow 🍄
