Outstanding place for German cuisine! Wild Bear Tavern could truly "kick it up a notch" by having a more authentic German atmosphere, e.g., having authentic German dress for the staff, authentic German music instead of the usual stale fare you can in lower class restaraunts.

We really enjoyed our meals. It wasn't too crowded and our server was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back. Only thing that could have been better was the schnitzel could be made like traditional Germans make.

Great pot roast dish (served in large bowl). German potato salad was very good. Large pretzel with cheese and mustard was a great starter.

Food was amazing, great customer service and friendly employees who went above and beyond to make our trip more enjoyable. Bill and Darien were the best!!! If we ever come back to pigeon forge we will definitely be back here!!

We visited Wild Bear Tavern in Pigeon Forge and were pleasantly surprised by how authentic the German food tasted. Everything came out quickly, the portions were generous, and our server was polite and attentive. The tables were clean, and the overall atmosphere made for a really enjoyable experience.

The cheese spätzle was delicious, though I think roasted onions on top would make it even more authentically German. Other than that small suggestion, it was absolutely excellent.

Overall, 5 stars fully deserved — we’ll definitely be back!

People leaving poor reviews must have come on an off day or something, because we had a great experience. We have spent several weeks travelling Germany and Austria and are familiar with German food. The other food is good, but the Schnitzel is where it's at. Get the potato salad and spetzel and you'll be happy. Save room for Apple Strudel (definitely to split). The food was great, the beer was great, the service was great and compared to other restaurants in the area, this is a great value.

We traveled to Pigeon Forge with a group of 10 friends and stumbled across the Wild Bear Tavern when doing a search online. The service was top notch - the waitress described many items on the menu and was very helpful. She was very attentive. The food was fabulous, everyone in the group absolutely loved their meals, even a very picky eater in our group liked his meal. Some of the meals that were hits at our table were the German Pot Roast, The Potato Pancakes, the Leberkase Melt, & the Schnitzel Parmigiana. Would definitely recommend this place and if we ever go back to Pigeon Forge we will definitely make a stop here!

My sexy wife and I were in pigeon forge for our 42nd anniversary. We decided to eat here because the sign said “authentic German food”. It was great!
Joshua was our waiter, and he was super. We had several questions about things that were on the menu, and he knew everything, and answered every one very friendly.
We ordered an appetizer that could have been our meal. It was some kind of sausage sampler. There were three different, large sausage links, sauerkraut, & purple sauerkraut ( I forget what that’s called), along with some other things. Very good!
Salads and meals were next. Large portions and very good!
Then the apfel strudel, with ice cream on top. It was almost too good!
The price was less than &100, which was very good, for all that we got. ( sorry, it was 2 days ago, so I can’t remember the price. I actually think it was only about $65, but don’t want to mislead anyone)
The bad: They have gone cashless, which I think will help destroy our economy!
We would eat there again, if we didn’t live 6 hours away!

Order was messed up for 1/3 of our group. They kept saying they were out of a lot of the things we wanted to order. They split a schnitzel between my plate and another as they ran out. When asked, they assured me the size of the schnitzel was measured by weight, not how much space it took up on a plate- I call BS. My spatzle & cheese was white cheddar shells and cheese that was overcooked to make the shells mushy. For an “authentic” German restaurant, I would think some sort of German music would be playing, lighting was dim to hide the age of restaurant. Overall a very disappointing experience!!! Highly not recommend!! Got home and reviewed the receipt to divide the purchases among our group and found A LOT of charging errors. It’s too late for us, but PLEASE REVIEW YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING. $3 for a Pepsi or tea on the menu, but receipt showed $5 ea. Up charges on sides that were supposed to be free…….

I normally do not EVER leave a review because most are submitted by competitors, however, Wild Bear wasn't authentic to start. They had no sausages, no heffe Veitzen beer and substituted pasta shells and cheese for spatzle and cheese. Basically another tourist trap.

We got there and had to sit outside and no tables were really sit up and it was 85 degrees outside. We had our dog with us they say they are very dog friendly? Well I went it and told waitress we were outside and she said in a minute. Many minutes went by and we left.
