The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and did I say the food was amazing. It is make fresh daily of delicious ingredients and thoughtfully plated with very large portions. The chicken biscuits were spot on and the scrambled eggs reminded me of the ones my grandmother made for me as a child. Highly recommend this quaint little restaurant for a Sunday brunch stop.

Fabulous food! I ate blackened catfish with garlic cheese grit and green beans that were kissed by the grill. My wife had the tomahawk pork chop she said it was delicious. I also had the appetizer lamb chops. Total of four with two different sauces on sets of two. My family has been raving about this place for months!! It didn’t disappoint!

Well hit or miss here. My girlfriend's food was fabulous. Well cooked and no complaints there. Her only complaint was still having to peel the shimp. I had steak and I must admit that I'm not exactly your average steak eater. I'm fancy myself as a steak expert. The steak was a little overcooked for medium but not a deal breaker per say. The biggest issue is was cut quality. The steak had good char lines but kinda the issue at the same time. A steak of this price range should have been cooked at a lower temp for a little longer so that it melts in your mouth. I'm not the type to return food nor waste food either. For that price, I would choke down a chunk of leather lol.
Overall, the place has good food. The food selection is unique for the area and tiptoes on the line of high society cuisine pair with similar prices.
I'm not looking for anything as compensation just leaving a review to warn others that steak may not be the best option to chose at this venue at least until things improve.

We needed a quick dinner after a long travel day and found this hidden gem! The food was so delicious and service was great! Wasn’t sure what to expect with the sweet potato gnocchi and they were beyond what I could have imagined! I’d travel back to Athens simply to eat here again!

O.M.G. it was amazing!! I had the blackened catfish and my wife had the 6oz Tenderloin. The brussel sprouts were to die for! Finished it off with Cremé Brulee, and the banana pudding. Best date night ever!!!!

Stopped by Southern Table in Athens for a mimosa and a light meal and left thoroughly impressed. The restaurant sits right beside the courthouse square, with convenient street and square parking nearby. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and refined, with quiet, subtle music playing in the background that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the experience.
Owned and managed by Ryan Yokley and Keri Golden, Southern Table has been part of the Athens dining scene since December 2023 and truly feels like a hidden gem.
The owners are enthusiastic, hands-on, and clearly take pride in the restaurant—and the staff speaks very highly of them, which shows in the overall culture and service.
The service staff were outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout the visit.
I ordered a mimosa and the wood-fired grilled lamb chops ($18), served with chimichurri, mint pepper jelly, and crispy onions. The dish arrived as one of the most beautifully plated entrées I’ve seen—visually striking before the first bite.
The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked, with smoky depth from the grill, balanced by the brightness of the chimichurri and the subtle sweetness of the mint pepper jelly, while the crispy onions added texture. The mimosa was fresh, smooth,cold, and well-balanced.
