We traveled as a family on our Spring Break and found this place well-reviewed and rightly so. We shared an entire pound of tri tip and enjoyed some cornbread and street corn. Food and service were the perfect complement to our many hours on the road that day. We will be sure to take this exact same route to Florida on our next visit, just so we can eat here again and chat with this wonderful family.

My husband and I were heading back north from a family trip to Gatlinburg and wanted true southern BBQ before leaving the south. This place checked all the boxes! Great BBQ!!!! The staff was so kind and accommodating. They have some of the best BBQ we’ve ever had! Bought some mustard sauce to take home and banana pudding for the road. The banana pudding sits right up there as well with the best I’ve had!! Def go check this place out you will not be disappointed!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Wow, stopped by here for lunch on road trip down I-75. Wanted something locally owned and unique. Got tri-tip and giant tater with pulled pork. Both awesome, sauces were remarkable and clearly homemade! I’m picky about my pulled pork and happily it was perfect. Evenly pulled, no icky gristle or hunks of fat. Bought a bottle of sauce it was so good. Plenty of flags on the street to call out the location, actually in a house behind the street front building. Would definitely make a point of stopping here again.

My brother in law Bruce Smith & I went to the Grumpa Bear BBQ. A stranger highly recommended the Grumpa Bear to Bruce. We arrived during their normal hours but the doors were locked. After a couple of minutes the owner Kris Blas came to the door. He said they had closed up early because they have a sick child that they needed to attend to. We told him that as parents ourselves we completely understand. He apologized and told us that they were cleaning up but they still had some hot food available if we were willing to take it to go. We graciously agreed and we were very glad that we did. We both got the Tri-Tip platter with baked beans & potato salad. They have 4 BBQ sauces that they make in house. It was all AWESOME! We highly recommend the Grumpa Bear BBQ. An out of the way restaurant that is worth the drive.

Traveling thru rocky top tennessee and found this little gem. The bbq was amazing. Group of 7 of us from ohio so we tried just about everything. The pork beef chicken baked beans cole slaw potatoe salad were all outstanding. Banana pudding was so delicious. Everything homemade. The owners were super nice and friendly. Treated us very well. This is a must stop if you travel thru. We would definitely come back. Ty for the great food 😋

Stopped on our way from OH to FL. We always try to find a local place which can sometimes be disappointing. With not much else around and an accident stopping traffic ahead, we were hoping the high rating in Google maps was accurate. Y'all! If you like BBQ and great services STOP HERE. They are absolutely the sweetest people. Highly recommend the pork sandwich, burnt ends, or quesadillas! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
