Updated from 1 star review - We’ve been coming to Pelancho’s for years, and while it’s had its ups and downs, it’s still one of our reliable go-to spots in town. The food is generally solid and consistent, and when things go well, it’s a great place to grab lunch or dinner.
That said, we’ve had some frustrating experiences here that really stuck with us. One time I ordered nachos and they were so burned they came out completely black. I told them I didn’t want a replacement, but they brought one anyway—after everyone else was done eating—and then charged me for it. When I said I didn’t want it anymore, they went and ripped the to-go bag off the table after leaving it there. It was just a weird and unprofessional interaction that left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended).
We’ve also had multiple issues in the past with takeout orders being wrong or missing items, which led to a pretty annoyed original review. But to be fair, they’ve also had plenty of times where everything was great. The good outweighs the bad, but those bad experiences have been frustrating enough to remember.
Bottom line: still a good place, just know it might be a little hit or miss depending on the day.

Once again a Mexican Restaurant that deserves 5 stars from me! The atmosphere was great, the service was wonderful, and the food was fantastic! 👍 I ordered the chimuchanga and loved it! $10.99 and I left full! The complimentary nachos and salsa while waiting for your meal is always an awesome touch! Will be back again when I am in town! 😊

Stopped in here for a lunch. They do have a good lunch menu. I will say our server Bryan was great. One of my favorite things they have here is the fried Avacodo with your protein choice stuffed inside. It also comes with some beans 🫘 and rice. If you are in town a must stop in!

I have been going to another Mexican restaurant in South Knoxville for years, tonight we decided to try a new place and went to Pelanchos. From the moment we walked in I was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was great, bright and colorful and comfortable seating. Our server was friendly and made sure we were good with drinks a few times! The Chips and salsa were amazing! Great tasting salsa! The food came out quickly and the portions were huge! The ingredients were fresh and the taste?Wow! We've found our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

I am highly upset, I'm sitting in my car, outside of the restaurant in Seymour, while my family is inside eating, I am outside because for some reason they are playing dance/techno music in a Mexican restaurant, I have epilepsy, an that music triggers my seizures, I asked that the music be changed, however it just recycled right back to the same crazy, techno/ dance music.. finally I got up an left, my food still sitting at the table...

This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant. A lot of locals come here. I had the deep fried avocado burrito, and it was fantastic! I wish I had taken a picture. If you are in Seymour, TN, check this place out.
Food portion has gotten smaller and price stays the same. I've been frequent visitor for many years and the manager just cares about the business and not his employees.

New management has increased prices and cut portions, when asked about it management got confrontational and said we can go to another Mexican restaurant if we didn't like it.

The wait about 15 minutes no biggie. But once seated wait 15 minutes take my order. About 15 minutes later waiter came back and asked second time what we ordered after writing our order down the first time. 35 minutes later finally got food but not what we ordered. Never got drink refills. Never got ticket for food. We payed at register without the ticket. We ate there many times before today and Never had issue till today. Will not be back. Just my experience today.

My wife and I have been coming to this location for many years and must say this was the worst experience we've ever had. We were here for dinner this evening. Jessica was a terrible server including her awful unprofessional attitude. I understand when its busy things can happen but... this was totally unacceptable. If management is interested in the details, please feel free to contact me. I do know we won't be back anytime soon.
