Very homey and well prepared. All kinds of choices and pies!!!

I have been to this place many times over the past 19 years.
I visit that area frequently…
Lately over the past few months they have raised the prices and there are less ingredients in their dishes.
I am not buying from here anymore.
This meal I brought home tonight was suppose to be a South Western Grilled Chicken with Penne Pasta.
I had 2 mini bites of chicken, no sauce, no seasonings, no cheese. Tasted like bland nothingness.
I had to get more chicken and made a marinara sauce and grated cheese in it.
Last month I also bought another meal to go with chicken and it was bad too.
I give this place a O now.
I am done.
It used to be so amazing

with my busy schedule lately I have been stopping in and grabbing healthy salads and meals. It is so much better than fast food. The sesame noodle salad last week was epic! I'm stopping in today to pick up a salad and some fresh tuna salad. please make the chilled shrimp salad again, it's fabulous! 5- Star *****

While we love Southern Star and give them high marks, it's getting more difficult to order from them due to everything (except blue plates) coming home in plastics, plastic, plastics. Home dishes nor re-use of previous plastic containers are allowed.We live in a beautiful, natural setting that cries out for a significant reduction in plastics use!

Vegetarian options: They make THE BEST gazpacho I've ever had.Relatively wide veggie selections.

I love this place but the prices keep going up too much and the ingredients get lesser and not as plentiful. I always get a quiche to go back to another state and i get the large salads in the cooler. The layered salad is not as good and not as plentiful and the quiche used to cost $14.00 and now it is $20 and a lot thinner and not as tasty. I am so disappointed. I hope this place survives.

Southern Star has a larger restaurant in Chattanooga but the little store front on Signal Mountain packs a big punch. Great hot entrees differ daily and there is always a good choice of salads, sandwiches, and desserts. I only wish this wonderful place had a sit-down space.

Everything! Food is wonderful and the staff is GREAT!

Pick up food here when I am on the mountain to visit mother! Great FRESH selection with portions that feed two!!the desserts are wonderful! Nice patient staff!

Great shop with cases of yummy goodies, wonderful salads and delicious deserts. People are friendly and attentive ! Will be back!

Now it the time to support our local restaurant. I love the Southern Star and want to make sure it is here always.

Southern Star is a local place that has food you can pull out of the refrigerator or order at the counter from the selection there. They have great quiches and salads.
