Fortune Village (Blue Roof)

I ordered their Mandarin Deluxe with garlic which is supposed to come with Chicken, beef, and shrimp and mixed vegetables and fried rice. What I received was only the chicken and no beef or shrimp. When I called to complain the Chinese lady said it's what I ordered when it plainly wasn't. Also, the fried rice was like steamed white rice with no carrots or peas. I was raised that the customer was always right and to fix a problem when one arose. This place did not offer to do anything unless I brought the plate back. I told them I would but we only get 30 minutes for lunch so I had to eat what I got, like it or not. China One is SO much better!!!

If you order late, you have to pick it up in person. It's nothing personal, they are family owned & enough people have called in orders, not picked them up, & the food got thrown away. Very good food and people. Made fresh per order. No pics, cuz I ate it all. 😋

My go to Chinese place! I have lived in Springfield my whole life and have eaten here from the very beginning. As I travel throughout the world, I judge all other Chinese food from Blue Roof. The family, who owns and operates the place, is friendly, efficient and helpful. I love my Blue Roof!! You have not lived in RobCo until you order from Blue Roof!

We just picked up lunch, the lady I guess got confused, we said Chicken & Shrimp chow mein, she said noodles or cabbage, we said noodles. We got chicken lo mein & shrimp lo mein, just noodles. I’ve never seen lo mein look like what we got. 25.00 dollars to be thrown away. That was our first & last time to go there. 🤮🤮

Don’t look at the building, just eat the food! Been getting food from there for the last 20 years. Big portions. Can make 2 meals out of 1. Very tasty.

I ordered online and I asked for the vegetables to be cooked tender but they were not tender they were very hard. I really love the things I normally order my only complaint is the veggies are way too hard for us. If you really like very crunchy veggies then you’ll probably love blue roof.

New to the area and have been searching for my go to Chinese take out spot. We live in the Ashland city/pleasant view area and the one Chinese restaurant here was absolutely awful so the next time I ordered Chinese I tried a spot in Springfield. I thought it was this place so today when I wanted some Chinese I called and ordered from here but once I pulled in a realized this wasn’t the same place, but was hopefully it would be good. It was not. I’ll mention the positives first. I called in my order while leaving Kroger. It was ready by the time I pulled into their parking lot. So it took maybe 3-4 min. The service was friendly and the food came out fast and hot. Unfortunately it was horrible.
I ordered the crab angels and the fried wontons. The crab angels were super super salty. Inedibly salty. And very oniony. The fried wontons were on the opposite side of the spectrum where they were pretty bland and flavorless. I ate two of each item hoping that my first impression of them was wrong and trying to convince myself that they weren’t as bad as I thought. But they were. I hate wasting food, or money, but I had to throw these away because I just could not eat them. Both were also extremely greasy. I could feel the oil in my arteries and pores. So that was $14 wasted. Maybe other things on their menu are better but I’m not willing to try it again. After eating food from the Ashland city Chinese restaurant I thought it was the worst I’ve ever had but this place was just as bad or actually worse.
I think the place I liked was called china one after searching more following this mix up. So I’ll try and remember to go there next time

It is drive through or delivery only, which is fine. I got delivery, and ordered the "wonderful chicken" with rice, and the chicken and broccoli with low mein. Before opening the "wonderful chicken" container, I thought maybe someone near me had ordered burger king, because all I could smell was heavy ketchup and onions. Nope- it was my chicken dish lol. Opened the box, and the ketchup and onions smell smacks you right in the face, which was surprising. As for the flavor of the food.... It tasted like ketchup and onions with chili flakes... because it is ketchup and onions with chili flakes. I was pretty sad... I don't like Ketchup. They need to change wonderful chicken to Ketchup Chicken so that people understand what they are actually getting. HOWEVER, the chicken and broccoli was just fine! Had bamboo shoots and carrots, as well, and was good. The rice was just meh, not much flavor and not a lot going on with it.

It has been a long time since we had Fortune Village. We drove through today and picked up lunch. They have the best crab angles!! The Mandarin Deluxe with garlic is delicious!! The lo mein and general chicken are also delicious! Everything was hot and fresh when we got home. The service was good and efficient.

The Mandarin deluxe is the best. It is sweet and spicy with chicken, beef, shrimp, and vegetables. It is not fried like the general but is so very tasty!!

Asian looking lady is extra extra rude. Terrible attitude for no apparent reason. It was so bad I asked for an immediate refund. This is a drive thru only and was my first time so I didn't quite know how it worked. She was upset about that lol. I'm glad I requested my refund because as I looked inside the building. It looked dirty and smelly. Pls beware
