This review is of my experience only and may not reflect what you might experience.

Three of us went there for dinner. We ordered an appetizer of tempura items; some crab legs, carrots, broccoli, and onions. The vegetables were raw inside the cooked outer tempura batter. They weren't that bad, but they were definitely not cooked long enough.
The three of us got a dragon sushi roll, chicken hibachi, and steak and chicken teriyaki. One of us ordered a side salad with ranch, and another had miso soup. (The hibachi and teriyaki plates come with an option of soup or salad).
The dragon roll was very loosely rolled, to the point that it would fall apart when trying to pick it up. There was no ginger or wasabi served with the plate (as is with most places) but that can be overlooked as it may be the restaurant's choice not to. However, the roll was flat out improperly made. It looked as if it was rolled loosely to make it seem like there was more food there. It didn't help that the pieces were cut about a half inch wide. It was impossible to eat without it falling to pieces.
The teriyaki and hibachi were decent. However, the menu states they come with steamed or fried rice. The waitress never asked what option we wanted, but I specifically ordered my teriyaki with steamed rice. They both came with fried rice.
Our drinks were served in a decent size cup, but I would wager it was about 12 - 15 ounces worth per cup...for over $3. Which, I understand is fine with refills... but we didn't get any till it was time to go and we finally got our waitress to refill our drinks.
When she brought the drinks back, she said she would bring our check. At that point, I realized that we never got the salad or soup and I had decided just to let it go. However... the bill was just shy of $87. We got nowhere near enough food for that amount of money. And the fact that we never got part of our meals made me say something.
I told the waitress that we never got the salad and soup and that I was disappointed with the amount of our bill compared with the amount of food, lack of service, and missing items. She asked if I would like her to put the soup and salad to-go and we could take them with us. I declined. She literally left the card reader at the table for us to pay (using a credit card) and then walked away.
After leaving a 15% tip (I'm not sure who's fault it was for us not getting part of our food, but I wasn't going to take it out on her) our bill came to $99.71. It was simply way too much. For that amount of money, we could have eaten steaks at a nice steakhouse.
As I said up front, this was MY experience during this one and only visit and may not be indicative of the normal day-to-day operations. I hope you have a better experience than I did.
With that said, I will not be going back.

This location is under new ownership if I'm not mistaken, all the changes have been very positive over the way things were before. Friendly staff, food is great, prices are reasonable and the floor isnt sticky when you walk in. We live nearby so we will definitely be back

Unfortunately does not even compare to tbe old Kokita restaurant that they took over. Prices are higher, much fewer menu selections, and food is okay, but not as good as Kokita. If you are very big on sushi, I guess this would be more up your alley. Plenty of sushi. Probably will not go back again.

Little hidden gem nestled in the quaint downtown sweetwater. Good food and atmosphere. We each got sushi, appetizer and fried cheesecake for dessert. Karley was excellent. First time dinning here and we will be back.

All the bad reviews aren’t even for this restaurant, this is the best sushi place I’ve been to in Tennessee, and received twice the amount of food I’d usually get for the price.

Some of the best sushi I've had. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ€€ It makes me sad to see the negative reviews since some of them are actually reviewing the previous establishment. Katana is different and is not run by the previous owners. Excellent food and service!

Great food. Great service. Sushi was very fresh too. Will definitely be back!
A few things we found odd. The host was wearing a chain and collar and her neck and we were asked what we wanted to drink before we even sat down.

Meat was mushy, couldn't figure out what kind of meat it was! But I ordered steak. Not going back. This review was submitted a year ago. But under new ownership and name change, this place is amazing and a good fit for our town of Sweetwater tn. Don't know why it says 3 months ago when it has been over a year since we went to the other restaurant. Thanks new owners!!!😊
