“We have been customers of Boyettes for years. We come from Michigan & eat here with family. The waitstaff and everyone are so nice & the food is amazing! We tried the frog legs this time & they were delicious! The kids love the kids menu! Some traditions don’t need change. This place has been around for 100 years & I wouldn’t change a thing ! 10/10“
“The catfish is breaded very well! The country ham is a true country ham. I absolutely love the old style onion rings. The hush puppies are large and moist on the inside. The rolls and white beans are also very good! The old style lake vibe makes me remember my childhood!“
“We live in Tipton County came to the Boat House after the tornado last year. We loved The Lakeview and had tried a couple of the other restaurants in the area. We stopped looking when we found The Boat House. We came back this week and stayed at Southshore Resort for 4 nights. We ate here Thursday and Friday nights. They are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The fried catfish is perfectly seasoned and fried fresh. We had the slaw, fries, white beans, and green beans. I had the catfish both nights and Joe had the chef’s salad the second night. All of the sides were were flavorful especially, the white and green beans. Joe’s salad was a great portion with ham, bacon and good, crisp veggies. The staff is all very friendly and attentive. The view is perfect of the lake and the sunset beautiful, whether from the restaurant or the park outside. We will definitely be back for my birthday in October, if not sooner just for the catfish! The owners, Kerry and Joann, are the perfect hosts! It is definitely worth the short, pretty drive to Samburg.Kid-friendliness: Several families were eating in. Good kid’s menu.“
“Not sure how or why you cook all of your fried foods in the same grease, but that's what we were told. That's gotta be some kind of code violation, right? Anyway, we had a good time and enjoyed our meals...even though the birthday girl could only have soup (not even a steak cuz it would be grilled on the same space as fish) The staff was really nice, though ??“
“This was a one person show. She was the cook, waitress, server, cashier, and I assume dishwasher. You would think she wouldn't be able to keep up with a whole restaurant. But miraculously she did, and she did a marvelous job. She was very funny and personable. The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. This was the best catfish dinner I've had in years. Cooked to perfection. In fact our entire party of 7 had nothing but good things to say. White beans, hush puppies, and fries were all great.“
