Sarah thank you for your hospitality during our recent visit. We really enjoyed our conversation with you as well as your great variety of wine. Now that we have found this gem on the back roads of Tennessee, we will stop on our future trips to your area. Hope to see you soon, Joe & Laura
Cades Cove Cellars in Townsend was definitely by far my favorite winery visit of the wineries we went to in the area as the wines were great, along with service.
They allow you to try 3 for free, but they also allow you to share. So here is what we had:
*Firefly (Blackberry) - good with a hint of blackberry.
*Sweet White Muscadine - Good muscadine flavor, nice and sweet.
*Harvest Moon - sweet and very smooth, really good.
*Ursa Major (Blueberry) - loved this one, sweet, great flavor with a hint of fizz. It had really good blueberry flavor.
*Rustic Cabin Red - like grape juice
*Sweet Red Muscadine - very good muscadine flavor, nice and sweet.
My top 4: Ursa Major, Sweet Red Muscadine, Harvest Moon, and Sweet White Muscadine.
My husband's top 4: Sweet White Muscadine, Ursa Major, Harvest Moon, and Sweet Red Muscadine.
We got a glass of the Ursa Major and Sweet White Muscadine. My only complaint was that the price of the glass, was over the top. We should have just got a bottle to split as we did not realize how expensive the glasses were - no wonder it is not listed on the menu.
Writing this review makes me wish we left with a couple bottles of wine as this ended up being our favorite winery, but now we know when we travel to that area.
Very pleasant. LIMIT samples.
One amazing Cab... I love this place.
I have no idea why this place isn't busier. The Cab was, in my mind, astounding. Velvet smooth, subtle fruitiness, I would buy a case if the price wasn't $22 a bottle. I'm not a somalier and shouldn't pretend to be one...but this was excellent wine.
The Harvest Moon wine is amazing! The pear aroma as you are sipping it is just the beginning and then the light sweet taste of a real pear as a finish. I hope this wine remains on their selection of wines as I was told it is a limited edition at this time. Please keep making it!!!
Me and my daughter was in there yesterday at 4:30 p.m. the wine tastes good the little girl behind the counter she was very rude I'll probably not be back
Scenery was beautiful. Traffic was awful. People would just stop in the middle of the road instead of pulling off as they were instructed.
Jasmine was so friendly and was eager to assist us! It was a great experience!
I took 3 friends to Cades Cove Winery late yesterday afternoon. They had fun, I tasted my usual favorites, added one or 2. Saw a couple of differences on the list, didn’t think much of it. Continued with tasting. There was a wine simply put on the list as “Raspberry” another “Blueberry” both were ok. Instead of buying one of my usual favorites, I opted to buy one of those flavors because the girls hyped it up, told me to mix it with this or that to cut the sweet. I guess I bought into it and bought the bottle of Raspberry. It was bagged and twisted closed, I didn’t think much of it. Got home, opened the bag, it is a bottle of Lupus. I thought this is a mistake. I will call in the morning and let them know I got the wrong bottle. I called and was informed that it is in fact the correct bottle. They removed the name from the list because of controversy surrounding the name, is what the person I spoke to told me. This made me furious. This is trickery. If you will not disclose the name of a wine and label it as Raspberry flavor on your list, this is wrong and a lie in my opinion. I will be leaving a Google review that you can not remove shortly. I will be contacting the BBB and the Wine board also. There were other ways to sell your wine. You didn’t have to resort to trickery. Very disappointed customer.

Wanted a bottle of sweet Muscadine wine for my Easter dinner Sunday. The girls working there let me sample the red and the white. They were very friendly and helpful throughout the process. The white Muscadine tasted exactly like the grape itself. Bold and robust with a subtle sweet tone. The red is sweet with a slightly muted Muscadine flavor not as up front as the white. I did go with the red as my mom really likes sweet wines. I also grabbed a couple of $3.00 wine glasses. This place is really nice inside and has cheese and wine related items. I highly recommend the wine slushy. They have a wine for every palate I just prefer sweet. Stop in and have you three free samples and pick one out. You won't be disappointed.
