“If you’re searching for a place to stay around the Smokey Mountains, you’ve found the best place- Dancing Bear! My Husband and I stayed at Dancing Bear in Townsend for our honeymoon and it was the best experience we’ve had. The cabin was clean, easy to get to, quiet, and absolutely beautiful. They offered complimentary bikes to take on trails and had a very nice hot tub on the porch that was so peaceful. The town of Townsend can still accommodate your travel needs with the Cades Cove winery, coffee shops, beautiful trails to hike, and cute shops but it is crowded with crazy traffic. If I could give our whole Townsend experience more stars, I would! The bistro was also hands down the best food we’ve had in our trip! The chicken is the best chicken I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend Dancing Bear and the bistro enough!”

“Waited 45 minutes because we failed to make reservations, but it was worth every minute. We had the filet and the pan seared trout. Best steak anywhere and cooked exactly the way we ordered. Best trout I think we’ve ever had. Don’t pass on dessert even if you have to get it to go! Great waitress, too.”

“We stayed at The Guest House, the staff deices you down the hill to The Barn. Dinner was four courses, with five dishes to choose among for each course. The Beverage Menu is a 290 page PDF on a tablet. I studied it online before dinner, selected a very well-priced Jaboulet. Started with a glass of Champagne. A whiskey with dessert. Lovely.”
“Wanted a bottle of sweet Muscadine wine for my Easter dinner Sunday. The girls working there let me sample the red and the white. They were very friendly and helpful throughout the process. The white Muscadine tasted exactly like the grape itself. Bold and robust with a subtle sweet tone. The red is sweet with a slightly muted Muscadine flavor not as up front as the white. I did go with the red as my mom really likes sweet wines. I also grabbed a couple of $3.00 wine glasses. This place is really nice inside and has cheese and wine related items. I highly recommend the wine slushy. They have a wine for every palate I just prefer sweet. Stop in and have you three free samples and pick one out. You won't be disappointed.”

“Great barbecue with fantastic sides. We had pulled pork sandwiches with mustard potatoe salad and fried okra. We sat on the back, screened in, covered porch, and watched 2 geese families with a total of 8 babies. The waitress was extremely friendly. We had a great experience and will make this a regular stop when we are in town!”

“I was there today and ordered the ribeye steak. Wow was that amazing if you’re in there area you really need to try this. Forget about A1 and Heinz 57 sauce try their apple moonshine barbecue sauce. The stake is so good you don’t need a sauce my friend ate hers without any sauce she loved it. Also, my daughter loves their smoked chicken. My son had a hamburger from there and he said it was really good. My son-in-law had a brisket and he said it was the best he ever tasted Good food, good service. Awesome atmosphere. What more could you ask for?Parking: There is plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: There was 11 of us to a more of a small children. They have high chairs for the small ones. they gave us cups with lids, so the younger ones didn’t spill anything they were constantly filling our classes we never had to ask for anything super service.”

“We ate here twice during our stay. The first morning, Kay served us and she was such a sweet attentive lady, always checking on us. The second morning, we were served by Larry and he was on spot with coffee and water or whatever we needed. Eating here was like going back to grandma's house. Warm, friendly, inviting. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Wonderful people! We will be visiting them again next time in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend if you go through Townsend, TN., that you stop in for breakfast.”

“Went for a latte as the last stop in our weekend in Townsend. Tried the lavender latte and was the perfect amount without it being overpowering. It’s a quaint shop with several different coffee/espresso drinks and some food options. They have various specialty drinks.”
“Thanks so much for making our family reunion so memorable. You went above and beyond making sure everything was ready and available for us when we got there. This was the first time some of the cousins had been together in over 20 years. Again thanks for all you did. Ruth Lane (Bruce’s mom)”
