I had the pasta with added shrimp and my husband had the pork chop dinner. It was nice and not crowded on a Wednesday night. A young lady was playing the guitar and singing. Our server was very sweet.

Overall great experience! Food on par, quick service, but the true icing on the cake were the owners and staff.Dan Good Foods displays hand crafted art on their walls and there's a quaint boutique upstairs.I gravitated toward an art piece that was displayed in the dining area and asked if it were for sale. I quickly learned that it is one of the owners who created it! Sadly, I was unable to meet her. Maybe next time.Anyway, we made a deal, and I am one happy lady!! ?

I had the schnitzel and friend had the pork medallions. We both had potatoes and the mac-n-cheese for sides. Jaeger schnitzel was good and gravy was tasty and no canned mushrooms. Pork medallions were just a bit overcooked for my tastes but the balsamic glaze was very good. Sides were ok but not great. Friendly staff and good service. Nice meal.

We had just departed the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and decided we needed lunch. Just happened to see the carriage house and stopped in. It was formally a steakhouse, but has now been turned into a family dining restaurant. We were greeted and seated by the owner which is a nice touch. Our waitress was his hi school daughter. We had great banter with her. Her service was great. Apparently due to the labor shortage all of his weight staff are high school kids. I had the pork sandwich with french fries. It was good. I can’t remember which sandwich my wife ate,but she seemed to enjoy it. If you are in the area I would recommend the carriage house for lunch.

My husband and I came to the NC area and traveled over to TN to check out the Smoky Mountains and the surrounding area. We had supper at the Carriage House and cannot say enough good about it! He had the BLT sub and I had a cheeseburger both with fries. The service was great and the food was served quickly and was delicious. The owner Dan was very friendly taking time to talk with us, we would definitely return here!!

What an unexpected find! We were wandering around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and visited the Heritage Museum in Townsend, TN. We finished up at lunchtime and had the good fortune to find the Carriage House Restaurant nearly next door. The server at this comfortable place was excellent - attentive and personable and could tell us everything about the menu. We both opted for fried chicken (breast) and different sides. We thought we died and went to heaven. The chef came out to check on our meals and told us they were “tweaks” on family recipes. I can’t imagine I’ll be back in the area anytime soon but if I were, I know where I’d be eating.

Our party of four found a gem in Townsend, Tennessee, at the Carriage House Restaurant. Our childhood friends of 60 years from New Jersey were visiting Sevierville for the first time and heard about this wonderful restaurant. We live locally and met them there. We were not disappointed. The pasta - delicious! The fried chicken - delicious! The salad - outstanding! The friendly owner even stopped by our table and asked if we were satisfied with our food. Absolutely! The service was great and our friends commented they could not recall the last time in their travels they had such a wonderful, fun, relaxing and pleasant restaurant experience.

Stopped by with the family on our way to Cades Cove. For appetizer we had the fried cauliflower, it was delicious! Coupled with the sweet chili sauce I will order that again. For dinner I had the chicken, shrimp grits. The portion size was huge! We also had a hamburger, two kids chicken and fries. It wasn’t crowded when we first got there, but before we left it was packed. Our server was a nice gentlemen who offered plenty of menu suggestions since it was our first time there, even tho we are from the area. We will be back.

We stopped here to get some lunch before heading to Cades Cove. The parking lot was pretty empty so we thought it would be a quick bite and then we would be on the road again. The restaurant was charming when we walked in. They greeted us and seated us fairly quickly. The table service was alright. The menu was very confusing due to the options being placed right ontop of one another. The table next to us had issues because they were out of bacon after they ordered and they weren't told until they put the food on their table. We placed our order and the server came back about 10 minutes later and told our daughter she needed to change her order because they had run out of bacon and that her food would come out about 10 minutes after ours. When we finally got our food, the steak was so salty, the three of us couldn't even eat all of it. When I went to pay the bill, the guy said it was $97! My mouth hit the floor. The portion sizes were incredibly small and the steak couldn't even be eaten.. My husband went to the counter and asked to speak to a manager. The manager worked with him and refunded us $50. Bottom line, I won't go here again even if they did correct the mistake. I would give this place 1 1/2 stars if I was able to. I'd rather eat at the Old Mill or pack a lunch.

Great food and friendly service at a reasonable price. No waiting night we visited! I had the Fried chicken with mashed potatoes,a nice spinach salad, and half and half tea. The fried chicken was perfect. Savory batter and seasoning with the chicken moist inside. You could cut it with a fork. Mashed potatoes were thick and whipped perfect. My spinach salad was fresh greens with finely grated cheese topped with fresh tomato. The iced tea tasty and I had two glasses.I also tried the pork Brisket which was delectable and had a sweet sauce. You could also cut this with a fork too!The staff was welcoming and our orders came out quickly and hot. Definitely down home fresh prepared meals! Our servers checked on us regularly and we were well watered and fed. The owner and host stopped by to chat and that was a very nice touch. We enjoyed our time at The Carriage House Restaurant and highly recommend it to fellow travelers!

We had high hopes going in. The service was great. They only had 2 servers and yours was running around like crazy. Ordered the safe choices or so we thought pancakes, French toast and chicken biscuits. The pancake was good as well as the French toast, tasted deep fried. My husband took one bite out of his chicken biscuit and gagged. Looked at me and told me "DO NOT EAT THAT! It has gone bad!" When we tried to speak to the Manger he was too busy to come out and speak to us. We paid your ticket and waited.I never wish to cause a scene, just wanted to let someone know that the chicken was off and to please check it. He had an attitude that we could hear from the front counter. Yelling at the sever to let us know it is brined in pickle juice. The off flavor was of bad meat not pickle juice.I don't want wish for anyone to get sick from his food. Go at your own risk.

Let me say the service was fantastic there was apparently only one person working the whole front of house. And he did fantastic We did not need anything the whole time we were there he kept our drinks refilled he kept everything just as it should be. The food was really good I had the gardener pasta it was great. The kids meals are only $5 which I think is very well priced, we had the hamburger and it's a good size burger, and the chicken nuggets, which are hand breaded it seems like. The decor is very dated and quite frankly pretty odd. The restaurant however was clean. There is a store upstairs, I got a shirt!!! It's amazing!!! The whole family there is great!! You should go!!!!

Chef Dan prepared a fantastic meal. M wife loved the chicken Hunter Schnitzel and my Filet Mignon was scrumptious, with a light sauce that was very tasty. The salads were crisp & fresh, with spring mix & baby spinach instead of the usual mundane chopped lettuce found in many restaurants. We both chose mashed potatoes as one of the sides, and it was REAL mashed potatoes! I love it when the skins are mashed in. Yummy!
