The Abbey at the Heartland Chapel

Its was a very beautiful and relaxing friendly atmosphere

The Italian sub was fantastic. The chicken fingers, tater tots and the ranch dressing was really good. We will definitely be back. We been coming for years and never noticed this little place. You all should try it! You won’t be sorry.

This was an absolutely beautiful place. They had live music and it’s right on the river. The drinks were delicious and so was the food. The staff was very friendly

Beautiful place, great food

The Abbey catered our wedding reception, and we couldn't have been happier! The food was absolutely fantastic – our guests raved about it – and the service was top-notch. They were professional, attentive, and made the entire process seamless. We highly recommend them for any event!

Most backwards concept.. you want customers to wait in a long line and order the food at the bar with our family then ask us to tip when we have to seat ourself, and get our own drinks. Ya we won’t be back.

Very nice place great outdoor seating and views. It was to cold for us to enjoy the outdoor dining area. Great place 👌

Usually when I have a non-stellar food experience at a restaurant I leave the place and review it later.. a cool down period. I don't need one this time. Since this is my first time here I ordered my base food to represent the experience. Fish n chips are a base order that's usually hard to get wrong and tells me about a new place. The batter was not cooked. The inside was wet, discolored and gooey, not crisp like you would expect.. I didn't ask if they made their own batter or if it was from a frozen bag. That didn't matter. It wasn't cooked. That means the cod wasn't fully cooked either. It didn't taste good and was white and mushy, almost liquid. I peeled the uncooked shell and just ate the fish. The fries looked and tasted like they had been double cooked. It might have been a bad night but I don't think I could come back for another try after this meal. Sorry guys, I was hoping for much more. I've passed your place many times over the years and was looking forward to a nice experience.

The Abbey is a hidden gem! Located on the river, the old chapel is beautiful, and they have given it (the restaurant) an old farmhouse feel that is cozy and welcoming.
When you walk in, there are digital menus to view before you meet the 1st staff member. They were friendly and offered suggestions for us 1st timers. We ordered the Abbey Burgers with tots. You take a number and seat yourself. They have several different "rooms" inside to choose from as well as outside river-front tables. We chose an inside table with a river view. The food came quickly and it was delicious! One of the best , fresh tasting burgers, we've had on this trip. Drinks are self serve so no need to worry about running out of sweet tea (or soda).
We had a great experience, and whether you’re a local or just passing through, The Abbey is definitely worth a stop!

Good Food and a unique atmosphere. Ate here twice during our stay. Hamburger, Chicken Tenders, Ribs and Hot Dog was all good. When you walk in you place your order at the counter and take a number and your food is brought out to you. There are different sections of the restaurant you can sit in. It was really cold during our visit but the outdoor seating look cool with the river running by.
