We had dinner there tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Atmosphere was great and food excellent! We lost track of time and didn’t realize it until I noticed it was dark. When you sit down baskets of crackers and cheese spread are brought to you. This is then followed by soup. Each entree has a salad with it along with one side. I ordered the deep fried shrimp but wasn’t sure if I would rather have the charbroiled. She offered to bring half & half without me asking. I thought that was such a nice thing to do. My daughter had the salmon and my granddaughter chicken. Both enjoyed their dinners. You get so much food that it makes the prices moderate. The owner is very hands on and is so attentive to her customers. She makes sure that you enjoy your visit! We will certainly be back! ⭐️🌟🌟⭐️🌟

1st and last time at Whistle Stop. Ordered pork tenderloin, soup, salad, and broccoli. Pork was extremely salty and looked like it had been run through a meat grinder. I brought left over pork home and attempted to rinse off heavy salt and spices off. The pork still had too much salt on it after running it under water faucet. Broccoli soup contained way too much salt. Broccoli and salad were good.
The restaurant is very dark inside and is not a good place for those who are visually impaired.

It is almost impossible to find a decent non-fast food restaurant in Greeneville, TN. The Whistle Stop menu was promising along with some favorable reviews. Made a reservation for 6 pm on a Saturday. Not necessary since the restaurant was 1/4 full. Quite a few takeout orders while we were there. The grilled chicken dinner was over marinated and dry. My chicken Parmesan was deep fried (ok) sauce from a Ragu jar with mozzarella, eatable at least. This restaurant does not serve ant vegetables or alcohol. I would not purchase a steak based on the over marinated reviews by others plus the steak photos are not appetizing. Reminded me of a restaurant in Fairhaven , NY serving grilled slices of prime rib!
