I discovered Farolitos over 30 years ago. I used to travel out toward El Paso and visited many locally owned Mexican Restaurants over the years. I learned what was considered authentic Mexican food (instead of the spicier TexMex). Farolitos serves my favorite authentic Mexican foods. I love the Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas and the Chili Rellenos!!!! Give them a shot for a weekly lunch. Call ahead to make sure they will be open for dinner. Lunch during the week...
Local, family owned restaurants are amazing and this one does not disappoint. They are always packed when they are open, the food is absolutely delicious. The BEST chili rellenos in town are served here, their egg batter is perfect. They have fantastic enchiladas as well. The salsa has a perfect amount of spice and a fresh, delicious flavor. Boy howdy was the food DELISH! Some of the best Tex-Mex in Abilene. One of the oldest restaurants in town and that’s for a reason. I highly recommend the chili relleno, their rice and beans and also amazing!
