Didn't stay because of no place to sit for 4 people and no waitstaff

Nice bar & atmosphere in the downtown south district of Abilene offering a variety beverages, food truck services, and fun open mic nights with a great live local band, Basic Truth every 4th Sunday, each month. Great prices on the drinks. Customer friendly bartenders & staff. It’s such a good time. The energy is fun, warm, and welcoming to all who patronize. It’s a diverse & varied environment. I highly recommend supporting the open mic nights. You don’t have to be a pro or seasoned singer. It’s kind of like karaoke with a live band plus the band performs songs in between. They take the time out to learn the music to the song you want to perform. Basic Truth is a soulful, artistically talented, group of local musicians with a power house lead lady singer. They are very open and welcoming to all different types of musical artistic expressions. If you haven’t checked open mic nights out yet, you’re truly missing out. Love, Light, Peace, Blessings, Community, care

This has always been one of my favorite bars in Abilene. They had a DJ last night, and the waitress was super sweet and attentive.

Me and friends tend to frequent this bar often. Recently, my friend was told he could not purchase drinks due to the owner saying he had enough, which was interesting due to us being sober and it was his first drink order im pretty sure. They also seem to get bothered if anything besides English music gets played. We played a popular Mexican song and it got shut off immediately after we paid for it on the TouchTunes machine. Did not sit well with me and probably won’t go back. If they don’t want stuff played maybe they should get rid of the machine. The machine is the only reason I enjoyed going there as most places in town play slow tempo country music. If someone payed to play music it should be played. This bar in general has never been great, but lack of non country options in the area.

I went with a group of friends to have a nice time, we were listening to the music that the rocola machine was playing and we were also paying for some songs. Not sure if the songs weren’t of manager’s liking or what happened, because when my friend went to get his first drink they told him he was not able to get any, and no he was not drunk nor he had drinks previously, so we left.
With the looks and the vibe we were reading we felt unwelcome so we left and left a Mexican anthem ”el son de la negra” as we walked out… they immediately changed the song that we paid for. Very sad that even though is a bar to have a “good time” has a lack of knowledge when it comes to culture and promotes racism. Never going back that was pathetic behavior.
