While traveling Coast to Coast, we wanted to make food a great part of the trip. This is a rather large Restaurant and Bar located away from the freeway. We arrived a little after 7:00 p.m. The ribs did not live up to their rating. The fixings were less than average.

I just finished a bacon cheeseburger I took out from there. As a 50 year old trucker Ive 8'n burgers from all over the country. Literally. This burger I just finished is the 2nd best I've ever had away from home. #1 being a place in Wyoming. It was good. The place had a great nostalgic vibe to it and everyone was very nice. If I wasn't so full I'd go get another one. Anyway great jobs lady's n gents for fabulous service and very tasty food!

Worse service ever. There were 3 groups that sat down after us that got their food before us, and we ordered similar items. Almost 2 hours of waiting, we just decided to go to Texas Roadhouse.

My wife and I were in Abilene for a day trip. We've been craving barbecue, so we looked up Joe Allen's. When we arrived, we found the atmosphere to be inviting. We were seated and served quickly. I had the lunch special steak (New York Cut), and she had the two meat combo. Everything was delicious, and our server made sure we were happy. There was so much food that we didn't have room for dessert.

Last 2 times i bought lb of sliced brisket it was so tough i couldn't tear it in half, have better luck ripping Dallas ph book in half. Fed some to my dog till he chipped a tooth, used the rest to shoe my horses.

My first visit was after he catered a function for the 96sps on Dyess back in 1984/5. I have moved on since then, I've lived in quite a number of places around the world. Eaten foods around the world but I still long for Joe Allens.

The brisket was good. The salad not to good lettuce was soggy. The service was nice. However, the two guys staring out at you while we ate was very uncomfortable. They should tint the window or just stop staring.
