This place is a true gem! A real oasis in a desert of culture. Located in a shopping center, the entry is tucked away around a corner. It opens in to pure atmosphere and a relaxing setting.
I was amazed at my visit. I've heard about this place and seen it tagged in my friends posts for years. It delivered in quality on every aspect in the posts I had seen!
The customer service was on point! They let me procrastinate for a long time without rushing me. They suggested items and talked about their favorites.
My first cup was a Cafe Latte. It was incredible! I'm not a coffee drinker. So it takes a lot to impress me. I was IMPRESSED. My second cup was a Breve. It also was wonderful. The food was top notch. I did not eat, but my friend and table mates did. They have an outdoor area with tables in front and out back. There is ample seating and even a bookable meeting room! This place has mega urban coffee atmosphere! You could easily slide this in to a neighborhood in Denver or San Francisco and it would fit perfectly!

They have this cool Postit note art competition! The sitting area feels kinda small, and the affogato was dispointing.

The few times I’ve been here, the atmosphere is quirky and fun but the coffee is lacking. I asked for an iced matcha and got a large glass of milk with maybe a half scoop of powder. Same with the chai.

Wouldn’t go for the coffee.

Great local coffee shop with amazing baristas. Definitely one of my favorites.

I will forever be Mezamiz loyal having worked there throughout my time as an ACU student 20 years ago! But they need some service improvements. We visited Abilene from Houston and Mezamiz is always a stop when we are in town.

(Some) employees acted like they didn't want to be there and that customers were an inconvenience. I brought my used dishes to the counter and they wouldn't take them, just asked me to move them to another place instead of just taking them and putting them away. They weren't doing anything (he was literally on his phone at the cash register), they were just being lazy. I could've just left the dishes on the table and walked out instead.

The biggest thing though was how slow it took to get my husband's scone out to him. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant (delicious BTW!) and had already eaten it by the time he got up and had to ask about his scone. A few minutes later they finally brought it to him. They weren't all that busy. It was disappointing. Mezamiz is an Abilene treasure that's been around for over 25 years. Would be nice if they had a little more pride in themselves.

Have always loved this place, but it has recently gone down hill. Service is slow, and everyone at the front walk around like chickens without heads. Food is way too expensive for low quality, low portions. Definitely disappointing for a small business. Took over 25 minutes to get the order out, even with less than 5 people in the store, and around 6 employees in the back.

Came here before work because it's the only close place I'm aware of that has gluten free muffins. I appreciate that. However, it took them 20 minutes to make my latte, I was the only one there, and made me late for work. And it's probably the worst latte I've ever had. It tastes like watered down milk with vanilla, very very disappointed in this place. I'm rooting for Mezamiz and I want them to do well, but it's just been so bad for so long

Just love this place! If you are an Abilene local then you are no stranger to Mezamiz. This place is so cozy and while it is no michelin star restaurant it is a great coffee shop! Melinda does a great job running two locations and I will never not support!

Mez Amiz is such cozy place for coffee. The staff are all very pleasant. I love that they have a couch. They serve a variety of coffees and drinks; although I haven't tried a lot of them, all of the ones I've tried were great. Bottomless drip coffee...amazing. They also have a variety of pastries and other foods. Great place with a quiet environment to work or study.
