Did 1:30pm seating on Thanksgiving buffet at $70/pp. Main food was good! No desserts left.. no pumpkin pie, no chocolate cake, no apple pie... just cornbread skillets on dessert buffet (?). Coffee was empty. Server did not brings drinks ordered. Had to go to bar and ask to take (or for someone else to deliver) Mimosas ($9) after about 25 minutes. Had to ask server for iced tea ($4) we had ordered 30 minutes later. Had to ask server for coffee cups and then there was no coffee. Server brought second check saying she was leaving... had not brought our drinks/iced tea, never asked if we needed anything (we were on our own the whole time) did not clear any plates, had to ask for coffee cups for self service coffee (which was empty), just a disappointing experience for $238 w/tax/3 people. Still tipped $40 cash because I appreciate them working on a holiday but have a feeling the ‘tip pool' never got it since our check had 3 different names on it throughout the meal. Would not bring my 80 year old Mom a small box (never asked for a meal box). Mom wanted to take her dog the rest of her turkey. We know the rules on buffet boxes, but you scrape a have eaten piece of turkey in trash instead of bringing her a small box to take to her dog. We will just go to Golden Corral next year and save $150. Food was good... chef good... service: none. Not worth the money for the experience.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary. We had never been here before and decided to give it a try. The decor is not what you expect for a fine dining restaurant. It looked more like a Luby’s than fine dining. The food was ok but not what you call outstanding. Our waitress was nice and on point. It was 7 o’clock on a Friday night and there was only one other couple in there. Not what you expect for a restaurant on a Friday night. I honestly do not think we will give it another try.

Overpriced food. Not worth it.

Went to Smokehouse Abilene and ordered the short rib — dry, tough, and basically overpriced beef jerky. Someone in my group got brisket that was overcooked, and another got steak that was undercooked. For the ridiculous prices they charge, the food should at least be edible. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and honestly, the whole restaurant needs to be shut down for good.

Ordered from here twice. Both times disappointed, dissatisfied and disgusting. Cesar is not a Cesar salad. Why is there bacon, pepper corn, and a lack of chicken even though it was an extra 16.
Ordered the short ribs, just the look of it you can tell it was burnt. Tried to go past the burnt top. Only to discover the inside tasted burnt. The meat looked juicy. Let’s just say you can’t judge a book by its cover. It was dry and tasted burnt. Over priced, over cooked and under delivered on flavor. Avoid this place at all cos, or else it will cost you good money for food that is not fit for a dog.

Stayed at the hotel for a seminar and after check out time on a Friday, went to a local brunch place that was full and brought back food to eat. Although the hostesses at this restaurant were always friendly, we were told we couldn’t sit and eat any outside food in the area between the bar and restaurant because it was still considered part of the restaurant. I found that so weird since it was just a sitting area and I don’t recall any signs or the hotel staff saying anything about it. It made no sense because NO ONE was around the whole lobby area. I didn’t eat at this restaurant because the reviews were so bad and there are MANY other fabulous eateries around so I wouldn’t spend my money here.

Went on a random Monday evening, so it was not full at all. The servers are serving the restaurant and bar, but they were still attentive and as quick as possible. Accomodations for asking for a meal to go on a separate ticket and boxes up our leftovers for us. Very kind and friendly staff! Food. Was. Great! If you are a local, it's comparable in prices to Copper Creek or The Beehive. However the $18 Smoked chicken Cobb Salad was big enough for my husband and I to split! Very worthy of a visit! We will be back!

Atmosphere and Services were fantastic. Food was just ok. I had the short rib, it lacked flavor and was underseasoned. Especially for being advertised as being “smoked” for 24 hours.

We were there dinner time last May.
Meatloaf taste like
Fake meat, calamari are night and day difference with Olive Garden. Without a doubt, Olive Garden is a lot better. They have grits at that time with olives, SOOO AWFUL TASTE.
Smokehouse Calamari small portion, expensive, robbery and microwavable quality which is not good, chicken wings are like re heat from the microwave.

Me and my husband will
Spend 40 to 50 dollars from
Beehive Restaurant Abilene TX but NOT from this restaurant.

Last May, no issues on giving us Military Discount. But then when we came back for Lunch, just to try, issues with military discounts. Now they said, no military discount. Not consistent.

Fish Taco is not worth it. Possibly, the manager will need to re think and change the menu?

$30 for a hamburger is outlandish. We split it among the three of us because who could afford a burger? Then the burger wasn’t even that good.

Attempted to have dinner, and it was served an hour after ordering. It was a $30 burger served tepid and slathered in the sauce I asked not to have. Fries were okay but not hot. I sent it back and ate at home. The others in our party were generally unsatisfied with their food as well; saying it was cold and salty. The server didn't check on us, didn't find out why there was a delay, and filled drinks only when we flagged him down and was generally inattentive. I do not recommend.

If you want a $30 hamburger and don't mind waiting 40 minutes to get it the Smokehouse Abilene is for you. To add insult to injury a pint of draft beer is $15.

Positives: The dining area was lovely and the regional decor was well done. We were a party of seven and were seated immediately.
Negatives: We enjoy fine food and are blessed to be able to afford an occasional splurge, but their prices are simply outrageous - $30 for a hamburger?!? We waited for more than an hour for our burger to arrive, and it was lukewarm at best. The other members of our party also said their food ranged from warm to cold. My wife and I asked to not have the Alabama white sauce on our burger, but it arrived sauced. Our server never checked to see if any of us were satisfied with our orders, and we had to call to him to notify that ours wasn't prepared to our specifications. To be fair, they offered to remake our order, but at this point the other members of our party were nearly finished with their meals and confidence in the kitchen was low, so we declined and left hungry. Service was competely absent, despite the fact there were an equal number of open and occupied tables. No updates on our order during our hour-long wait, and our server only refilled our drinks when we flagged him down.
We will not return.

Memorial Day special prime rib dinner was delicious, well priced, and service excellent. Disappointed in cashless policy.

I don’t usually complain nor leave bad reviews but this one is a needed one —When Smokehouse Abilene first opened, both the food and service were impressive. But unfortunately, the quality has steadily declined. We attended their Christmas event last December breakfast with Santa, and the service was chaotic and inattentive. I tried to be understanding since it was a special event, but even the food was subpar as well.

Still hoping for a better experience, we gave it another try yesterday for their Mother’s Day brunch. Big mistake. We were seated but completely ignored—no one explained the process nor we were asked what drinks we want, nothing. I had to get up and ask someone, and the waitress simply said, “It’s been a long day and had to use the bathroom” with little accountability. I understand the industry is demanding, especially on holidays/events like this, but that kind of service is unacceptable— i just went on with the waitress joking around just not to ruin everyones mood.

The food was also disappointing—bland and underwhelming. Sadly, this was the last straw. I really wanted to support a local business, but this place has gone downhill. I won’t be returning.
