Went on a random Monday evening, so it was not full at all. The servers are serving the restaurant and bar, but they were still attentive and as quick as possible. Accomodations for asking for a meal to go on a separate ticket and boxes up our leftovers for us. Very kind and friendly staff! Food. Was. Great! If you are a local, it's comparable in prices to Copper Creek or The Beehive. However the $18 Smoked chicken Cobb Salad was big enough for my husband and I to split! Very worthy of a visit! We will be back!
Memorial Day special prime rib dinner was delicious, well priced, and service excellent. Disappointed in cashless policy.
I don’t usually complain nor leave bad reviews but this one is a needed one —When Smokehouse Abilene first opened, both the food and service were impressive. But unfortunately, the quality has steadily declined. We attended their Christmas event last December breakfast with Santa, and the service was chaotic and inattentive. I tried to be understanding since it was a special event, but even the food was subpar as well. Still hoping for a better experience, we gave it another try yesterday for their Mother’s Day brunch. Big mistake. We were seated but completely ignored—no one explained the process nor we were asked what drinks we want, nothing. I had to get up and ask someone, and the waitress simply said, “It’s been a long day and had to use the bathroom” with little accountability. I understand the industry is demanding, especially on holidays/events like this, but that kind of service is unacceptable— i just went on with the waitress joking around just not to ruin everyones mood. The food was also disappointing—bland and underwhelming. Sadly, this was the last straw. I really wanted to support a local business, but this place has gone downhill. I won’t be returning.
This was to be a special occasion - Mother's Day Brunch. Upon arriving for the latest-available reservation, the receptionist at the restaurant kiosk couldn't be bothered to even look up at us and I had to purposely engage to get her attention. We were then seated but had to wait an inordinate amount of time for a server to engage. Then the sweet young lady helping us inadvertently spilled water on our table and chairs and we had to change booths. But all that aside, the food was by far the greatest disappointment. My wife was excited for the omelet bar but it was bland and she only nibbled at it. I had the biscuits & gravy and the biscuits were stale and the gravy lukewarm. Our daughter had the brisket but again, only ate about half b/c it was effectively tasteless. She did however like the little smoky sausages and said the mac & cheese was good. The fruit offerings were unsweet and not ready for prime time. The cheese & charcuterie offerings were a high point. So we gladly turned to the desserts and were again disappointed. The cobblers, while appealing to the eye in their little clay pots, were cold and tasteless. The bread pudding, although of a type & consistency with which I was not familiar, was tasteful but that was mostly due to the separate sweet cream provided for pouring over it. All in all a highly disappointing Mother's Day meal. I am a Lifetime Diamond Member w/Hilton and the Doubletree hotel was nicely appointed, bright and welcoming upon entry. But on this day at least, the restaurant was sorely lacking
What a great experience! We ordered the Big John Burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! The portions were great, we probably could have shared one burger and it was really good, cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful. Trevor was our server and he was excellent. Wendy let us choose where we wanted to sit and was very sweet. We enjoyed our night out at the Smokehouse and will gladly go back.
Gave this restaurant 2 attempts hoping the first horrible service was just a bad night. Second night was worse than the first. Wait staff needs better trained. Food was okay, but wait staff was far from acceptable. We had different servers each time and was about a month between visits.
Tonight was date night. We got tickets to the Aaron Watson, and we wanted to go to a nice restaurant before the show. Wow! What a beautiful place. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the drinks were great! Thank you! We'll be back.
our family of 5 met here for the thanksgiving lunch buffet. the restaurant itself was nice bright and inviting. our server, hailey was the best! she had a fantastic attitude and was so lovely - along with the other waitresses in our area, everyone was so kind! the food was also surprisingly good (we've done thanksgiving buffets at other hotels in the past, the food was subpar). we had stuffing, mashed & sweet potatoes, turkey and corned beef with gravy, and topped it all off with a slice of pecan pie. gotta say, it was pretty dang good! only minor complaint was that we couldn't find any cranberry sauce. safe to say, we will definitely be back next year!
To be honest, we were not expecting much after reading reviews of this restaurant. But we decided to give it a try since we had just driven hours to get to Abilene. We actually enjoyed our meal and were glad that we ate at the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. And our server Haley was simply the best!
Sat at the bar and ordered a Smokehouse burger. It was DELICIOUS and service was quick and friendly!

No one said anything to us. They looked very uncomfortable. We were told that they would serves even if they stopped breakfast at 10am. Never was served. Do NOT recommend for visitors.

Unimpressed, actually disappointed. Paid almost 60 bucks for a ribeye, it was good, don't get me wrong but no where near 60 dollar steak. Good food but very overpriced.
Food is terrible and every plate costs $25-$40. Although they advertise it as a restaurant, it’s clearly just a hotel restaurant. We had high hopes, but all 7 of us came out saying “meh.”
I recommend avoiding this place.

They were out of two drinks and one entree that our part of 5 ordered. But it was very sparsely crowded for a Saturday night. The service was fine. The prices are too high for Abilene, compared to other nice Abilene options. They should advertise to the local community about their local residency discount. That would likely bring in more local traffic. This is a nice addition to downtown Abilene.
