Ordered the jerk chicken plate. This came with two pieces of chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage. The chicken was tender with a mild flavor (no heat), as was the cabbage. The rice & peas used the traditional red kidney beans and had a woodsy flavor, but the scotch bonnet pepper was missing. Overall I'll go back to try the goat curry or the ox tail.

I had some pretty good customer service here, I should’ve asked the lady up front her name lol she was kind and super helpful ! The place was really clean and the owner I presume was super friendly! They ran out of fries unfortunately but I was able to sub it for mac n cheese and it was BOMB!! I will be coming back!

Tried the catfish with cabbage and red beans and rice. Was very delicious. But let me tell you something the cornbread!!! Try the cornbread!!! I was impressed and will surely be returning. ?

I had the jerk chicken and my mother had the catfish. Our sides were cabbage and greens. The food was excellent and flavorful. I will definitely be back to visit again. Service was great!

Stopped by before leaving town. Food was excellent. I had the jerk chicken and my husband had the beef tips and rice. So good. Next time I visit I will definitely stop by again.

I’m speechless. ONE OF THE BEST PLACES IN ABILENE. Wings were hot and delicious, greens are better than my granny’s, and the banana pudding gave me a religious experience. 1000% going back as often as I can.

Stopped by the soul food shack for lunch the other day and it did not disappoint. Food was hot ac delicious.
When I walked in was greeted by the cashier. She let me know my food was still being worked on. She was friendly and most of all my food was seasoned good and ?. I recommend trying Soulfood Shack if you haven't Iwill go back. The owners are really good people.

I seen a post on the Abilene Small Business FB page about a new soulfood restaurant opening, so I wanted to try it out. I walked in and was greeted by an amazing employee who engaged in small talk and fantastic customer service. I gave her my order, and she read it back to me to make sure that everything was correct. I did go around 245, and it was right before they closed. Some items weren't available anymore but she recommended other items that would be just as good. Now, let's talk about the food. I got the j*** chicken, fried wings, Mac and cheese and cornbread. The j*** chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It wasn't overcooked and hard, it was soft and melted in my mouth. The fried hot wings were delicious!! Again, it was cooked to perfection to the perfect crispness that a hot wing should be. The Mac and cheese was also delicious and the cornbread. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a very delicious meal. My tummy was full and the portion amounts were very generous.I would recommend going earlier though, just to make sure that the food you want is available. Not before closing time like me. I've heard that their banana pudding is splendid so I'm disappointed in myself for totally forgetting to order some. But, they have gained a loyal customer with me, and I'm hoping to try it next time.
